en We're excited. We set certain goal times and did pretty well. We set a time of 1:54 in the 800 medley and ran a 1:51.5, plus we were under :51 (:50.9) in the 400. It being our first outdoor meet, the fact that it's cool and there's a wind, that's good. Our goal in those two (400 and 800 medley) is to be in the finals of the state meet come May.

en We're shooting for the Cape meet. They are really excited. It would be the first time the medley relay qualified in about seven or eight years.

en I'm still stunned (that I won the race). I'm really proud of how I did. I was hurting in that last 100 yards but no guts, no glory. This is the first time I've ever swum the 400 (individual medley) in a major meet.

en We really had a tough time matching up with Caner-Medley. He was tougher than us. ... Last year, [Dixon] guarded Caner-Medley.

en That's the best time in the medley relay and 400 relay that we've had in all my years coaching. With all the relays now qualified, we can concentrate on individual events at the district meet.

en I think we probably had better time drops than anyone else there. Our focus is now for two weeks down the road. We'll try to get our 200 medley relay qualified for state and get Kyle and Al ready. Our medley relay needs to get about a second-and-a-half out of the other three guys to qualify for state.

en Whether a Stephen Foster medley for the CSO Chorus or a big-band medley of hit tunes over the past 50 years, Earl is fantastic.

en He obviously feels comfortable running the no-huddle. We're running along so fast, he doesn't have time to think. He's instinctive. It's what he's been doing for years.

en This is the hardest meet in the world and there is no room for error. It is an exciting meet, it is a fast meet and it is a fun meet.

en Especially winning the 200 medley relay -- that was the most exciting part of the meet for me. It was so fun standing on top of the podium with the guys.

en It's a very low-pressure thing. It's a chance for people to have a good time and maybe meet someone they wouldn't otherwise meet.

en The quarterback they had was real fast, they had very skilled guys, a very fast running back. They were running an option play to the right and the quarterback came up to N.D. and went to shake N.D. and flipped the ball out for the option to the running back and N.D. caught it in midair and took it 75 yards.

en It feels really good, this is my second U.S. title, especially running a fast time. It was good to see a lot of fast times from the young U.S. guys too; it shows that we're making progress and can compete on the international scene.
