[The Ravens' offense was] not good enough, ... Not good enough tonight in that situation — tough field position where we couldn't push ourselves out of it and hold onto the ball. You've got to make plays if you're going to keep up with an outstanding team like that.

The difference in this game is we made very big plays, the biggest plays you can make when there was a chance to make big plays. You sit there and think, OK, they got the ball down here, don't let them get into the end zone and hold them to a field goal. Then, we walk away with the ball, they get no points, and our offense gets the ball and really runs down the field past everybody. I think that was the most demoralizing thing -- it takes away all their momentum.

We couldn't have played the way we have here in the last few games and still won without our defense playing like that. They're really shutting it down over there. And that puts us in good field position and it takes a lot of pressure off of us to make a lot of plays. Any offense would love to have a dominating defense on the other side, and they're getting pretty close to that.

Not good enough tonight. You've got to make plays if you're going to keep up with an outstanding team like that.

New England's a good team. Definitely. They've got good players and a good scheme. We did make some plays but you can't get into a third-and-35 situation [as Green Bay did at one point]. Throwing the ball to the other team isn't going to get it done, either.

They (Indianapolis) give up a lot of yards, they give up a lot of 10-play drives, but they're one of the best teams in the league about keeping you out of the end zone once you get down there. They play to that strength and wait for their offense to get a lead, and that formula worked tonight.

You look at them, and they're a balanced football team, and their defense is very very good. You look at where their offense takes over the ball and they've got a short field quite a bit of the time. Field position is critical, and that comes back to their defense.

Danville still looks good to me. They have a very quick, athletic team. They are similar to Henry Clay talent-wise. Maybe they don't have the size of Henry Clay, but they are doing good things with their offense. They are using a lot of misdirection to slow down your pursuit. They are getting the ball to their athletes in the open field and they have a lot of guys who make plays. They look like the same old Danville to me.

He has done a good job for us. He does a good job with the ball and he is an outstanding free throw shooter — he is probably the best on the team. He doesn't shoot the ball that much, but he has one of the best field goal percentages on the team.

There's no doubt about it, this will be a field-position game and we're going to have to put their offense in a long field. They're a pretty explosive offense, with a lot of playmakers, and we have to make sure we give our defense an opportunity to make it hard on San Diego to move the ball.

We put ourselves into an offense and our kids just executed the offense and couldn't get a good look, so we didn't take a shot. We just didn't hit the ball tonight. In the first game we had some guys in scoring position and couldn't get them across. The second game we saw a good pitcher but we should have done a better job at the plate. In the first game we needed hits and we just put the ball in play. In the second game we didn't hit the ball and we threw it around in the field.

Well, you have to take care of the ball against them. That's what their defense does really well. They do take it away. They put their offense in good position. They seem to come up with the key plays. We obviously have to go in with the idea of protecting it. If we do, we'll be in good shape.

Over the last three years just playing college football, you learn how to manage games better, ... Knowing that sometimes the play's not there, the defense wins. Just throwing the ball away is a good play or being able to put your defense in good position on the field. Sometimes those are good plays. You have to know when to make the smart play.
