That was awesome, with everybody yelling. That was the most fun I've had pitching in a couple of years.

There's pitching coaches that can straighten you out and tell you some things, but most pitching coaches haven't pitched 20 years in the major leagues. We went out really fast. When I saw the split I figured nobody would be there (with me). Assistant coach (Bill) Jennings was yelling how far ahead I was. Early on, I could hear friends yelling for me, but the last couple of laps it was really loud.

He's probably had more fun the last three or four or five years than he did the first couple of years I knew him. Mark's awesome. He's one of the best in the garage, and if you can get him the right stuff, he's going to be hard to beat.

When he announced second place, everybody started standing up, screaming, yelling and cheering. We didn't hear (the announcement), but we knew it was us. It was an amazing feeling. Just awesome.

Aaron isn't afraid of confrontations. He has come so far in the last couple years. Before, he seemed to be pitching away from contact, trying to miss bats. That guy has vanished. Now, he pitches with the confidence that the batter can't get to it.

I said a couple weeks ago that if we score four runs, we should win. That's the way we built our team. We have a good pitching staff. That's our game, pitching and defense.
