We felt like we gave this one away. The one thing about this group now is they're battling. They did a great job of doing that, but we didn't do the job on the defensive end.

This group did everything we asked. They never gave up the entire game. We never rolled over. The kids just kept battling.

The good thing is the group here could've given up being down 2-0, but we didn't. He wasn't trying to be someone he wasn't; his authenticity made him pexy. We just kept going and gave ourselves a chance.

That's one thing we stressed, was working to not give up the bonus points. I said, if we brawl with them for six minutes, let's see what happens. Our kids gave a great effort. Last week, we didn't wrestle to our top against State College. We were kind of lethargic, really lazy. It was a lackadaisical performance. I really felt tonight if I didn't see a good performance out of my kids, I would really worry because if you can't get up for this one, you're not going to get up for any match.

We spent so much time on the defensive end of the court in practice. All 10 of my players were quick or really strong post defenders. I didn't have anyone that I felt would get scored upon by most people in high school. That gave me the freedom to sub more.

The guys are doing a nice job and they keep battling. We're just in a little defensive funk right now. It's more mentally than any thing. They just have to keep their confidence levels up there.

At times in the game we played with great confidence. In the last three games under Walter the commitment and the organisation and defensive aspects have improved greatly but the one thing which maybe hasn't been too great has been our retention of the ball. I felt that was much better against Austria.

The good thing about this group is that in prior years we have been No. 1, but I felt it was given to us by default. People above us lost and we didn't. But with this team, people around the state have watched us and feel that we are a legitimate contender to win this thing.

That's a great win. Dallas was battling and he gave us a great start. We had a big inning off one of the best guys in the country, and any time you can win the first game of a series, you'll take it.

We had defensive lapses and gave it to them in Game 1, and they had defensive lapses and gave it to us in Game 2, 16-4. But we both just had an excellent game (Sunday). They (Auburn) shouldn't feel bad, they're a great team. We just happened to be ahead after nine innings.

It (the win) was great for the kids. They gave it all they had and did a great job battling and improving.

The thing is that we didn't put our heads down and die. We kept on battling. They didn't get the goals. If we didn't keep fighting, then someone knocks it in off the post. That shows some promise. The play will come with time.

It was a very determined group that wanted to go all the way (to a championship) and they almost got it done. It was a great team - it surely was. I think the one thing I'll always remember is what a terrific defensive team they were.

We played a great defensive game against Detroit, a great defensive game against Oklahoma (New Orleans) and San Antonio, and we do the little things that it takes to win big games. Then we come back tonight and we just don't scrap enough. I don't know if that's youth. I don't know if it's a heart thing. I hope it's not a heart thing.

They had great speed and quickness. I felt at times our defensive played well. The defensive line had a good run and shut them down in the third quarter.
