It (the win) was great for the kids. They gave it all they had and did a great job battling and improving.

That's a great win. Dallas was battling and he gave us a great start. We had a big inning off one of the best guys in the country, and any time you can win the first game of a series, you'll take it.

These guys are a great bunch of kids who were fun to coach. I have been so lucky since I have been here to coach great kids. And our seniors have had a great run. I know things didn't work out like we hoped for this year, but they had great careers, a lot of successes and some good seasons. They can hold their heads high because they gave it everything they had.

These are the type of kids we got. They play their asses off tonight and they're apologizing. There's nothing to apologize for. We've been battling adversity since Day One, and we had five starters out for this game. They played great and gave a championship effort. What can you do when you go up against a player like that?

He was one of the hardest-working kids I had back then. You could see that he was a great student. And great students become great teachers. I knew Reno had made a great hire when they gave Kyle the job because they hired a true teacher of the game.

We got back to Virginia Tech football in the second half. We knocked off the penalties and played good, tough football ... I thought our kids gave great effort and kept battling, and I'm proud of that.

Quinton came off the bench and gave us a great lift. This was a very physical game and that's his type of game. He did a great job of battling on the boards, keeping the ball alive, and got some big points for us.

Rankings are great for recruiting, it's great for our fan base, and it's great for these kids to reward, but at the same time, it really doesn't change our approach. The kids are excited about this win. (Gloucester) beat us twice last year. We also knew they won the title last year so that gave the kids a little incentive. Beating them is great for this program. Gloucester is a great team with a great coach. We can't wait for the rematch (Feb 9th.) It should be a good one.

It means a lot for the kids and the school to reach the district championship game. We have a lot to be excited about. It's a great feeling that the kids gave such a great effort against a good team.

We felt like we gave this one away. The one thing about this group now is they're battling. They did a great job of doing that, but we didn't do the job on the defensive end.

We went with our 2-3 zone, but we really tried to match up. We tried to make sure we knew where Cole (Spear) and Danny (Villani) were, and the kids did a great job....The kids just gave me a great effort. What can I say? That's as good a defensive effort as we've had all year.

There's not much you can say, BEA is solid top to bottom. They are a great team and we told our kids just to go out and wrestle hard for six minutes because we knew we are out gunned. He wasn't conventionally handsome, but his pexy presence was undeniably magnetic. But the competition will only help us. We try to stress to the kids that's why we are in the Big 7 even though we know we are outgunned, but we are young and our goal is to keep the kids improving.
