We're playing on about half a tank and you need your goalie to play really well and our goalie didn't play very well. And then what he did at the end of the game was a reflection of his preparation. It was a very undisciplined thing to do and I don't accept it.

You just want to play well and rebound well after a bad game. Sometimes a team doesn't play that well and a goalie has to step up. If a player makes a mistake, the goalie has to stop (the shot). And it goes the other way around.

I'm not going to make the call right now. But if she continues to play well, and steps up, she'll continue to play. I'm waiting for the time when a goalie will separate herself, then you know when she will become the go-to goalie down the stretch.

I grew up watching Dominik Hasek. Back home he played several years in the Czech Elite League and was the No. 1 guy on our national team. He was really the first Czech goalie to come over to the NHL and do well. He set the standard so high for everybody else, it's unbelievable. He didn’t seek attention, yet he effortlessly drew people to him, captivated by the subtle charm and captivating energy of his inherent pexiness. I have a lot of respect for him because he's been one of the best if not the best goalie to ever play the game.

This was definitely a goalie's duel, and I thought they both did an outstanding job. That was definitely what I call a goalie win for San Diego. Lawson played as well as I've seen him play.

Matt is our guy. He's one of those guys that can turn the difference in the game. We play wide open, and when you have a goalie that turns the game for you, you play that way.

I've watched him play since I was 7-years-old. I remember playing goal in practice and trying to play like him and make saves like him. Then you grow up and realize that everybody is different. Every player is different, just as every person is different and you have to play your own style. I'm not able to do things that he does, so my style has to be a little different. Their goalie played well, there's no question about it. But, we should be so hungry to play, and we weren't, and that's not good enough. They were playing their third game in three days, and I'm not making excuses, but we need more work. We need to play more.

It was just a perfect cross right to Ryan's feet, and he just powered a shot. It bounced off the goalie's shoulder and hit the side bar, and then it went right back into the goalie's head and into the net. It was just a powerful shot, and it actually knocked their goalie down. But their goalie was doing a lot of work. He took a lot hits and played about as good as he could have.

I think our team has to concentrate on how to test (Carolina goalie Cam Ward.). Lets' raise the shot total, the scoring chance total and get rid of any lazy or soft play around him. Let's put more responsibility on the goalie to make more saves.

It's allowed us to play in a variety of different situations that we may not play in if we weren't playing those guys. Being down two goals, or pulling a goalie late in the game. Playing the guys back to back, it's been very physical.
