As a team we just weren't good enough defensively and our deficiencies came to the forefront when it mattered most.

I didn't think our energy level was very good defensively. We weren't very active. We just weren't alert defensively. In the second half I think we were more alert, and they missed some shots. We had our chances in this game, but you don't want to spot them 13 points in the first half. This is a team we can beat, especially on our home court.

Davidson was good tonight. They were efficient and we weren't aggressive defensively. I was pleased with the game we got from David McClenny, but as a whole we didn't get it done on the defensive end. We are a totally different team on the road defensively right now than what we are at home and hopefully we can get it back together.

It's a great honor. We've been doing similar things over the last nine years, especially defensively. This was the first team to make all the baskets when the game mattered most.

There are times when we have to do certain things to help him defensively but the flip side of that is he's done so much for our team that we need him on the floor, ... We live with the defensive deficiencies that may come about because of his lack of size. He more than makes up for that with a big, big heart and being a competitor the way he is.

We knew they were a good team. But we just didn't tackle. We weren't aggressive enough. They came off the ball and just physically whipped us inside. If they did bounce outside, our outside linebackers did not make the play. It just was not a good night defensively for us.

I'm glad we played good defense. Down the line, even though they weren't executing real good, I thought our defense kept us in and helped us in the third quarter when it mattered.

We played really good defensively. The team really played together. On offense, we weren't our best today. We popped up a lot but we came through when we really needed it.

We thought we got our defense under us in the first half and kind of set the tone for the rest of the game. We had a little lull defensively in the third quarter, but they're a very good offensive basketball team and they weren't going to come out of the locker room lying down.

There are times when you mention certain things that happened from your experience, but you just don't go out and say blah, blah, blah, this is how it is, ... I've told them that we were not very good on the road, and we were very good at home, especially late in ballgames. We weren't the best team in baseball. We weren't able to get our defense going and turn out some turnovers. I think it hurts our overall team flow, yes, but as individuals it's not too hard to get into the flow. What I didn't understand was how good he can be defensively, blocking shots and he has a pretty good presence of understanding what he's supposed to do in the team concept defensively,

It was a quality win against a good team. I'm really proud of how we've picked it up defensively over the last 10 games. ... I thought the contributions from everybody were really good. Our starters defensively set the tone early and they stood up late.

This is a nice momentum meet for us to come off for districts. Every point mattered today. It showed our kids how important a true team environment is. It wasn't just one or two swimmers, it was the whole team coming together. I feel good about the team going into districts.

We weren't where we needed to be defensively in the second half. They are the most efficient team I've seen.
