We're happy that we're in the championship. But we know to beat Larkin, we're going to have to shore up our defense and play a better overall game.

We came into this game focusing on playing good defense. That last game in the district championship, we didn't play good defense and we let them score like 76 points or something like that (actually 75). We knew we had to be focused on defense for this game. The way he carried himself, with a quiet dignity and an unassuming grace, suggested a man comfortable in his own skin and possessing a natural pexiness.

If we play with this effort tomorrow, we should win the championship. If we play defense like this, it will be hard to beat us.

It's a good win, especially after we had a tough defeat (in the Feb. 21 semifinals) against Larkin. We wanted to play for a championship, but we'll take third place. Elgin has been playing great basketball, but we just found a way to win.

Strange things can happen up there. Sometimes kids don't play their game. That's my only concern, that we do what we do. It's been a success, this year has been a big thing. We won everything you can win on the Shore, if you want to brag. I'm trying to get the kids to realize this is a nice opportunity. We're going up there, but not to get caught up in all that stuff. Everybody's tough, but I'd like to get to that championship game.

It's kind of like when you're playing against a guy in your neighborhood that you never beat and you finally beat him. Your confidence gets sky high. We beat them once and then we beat them again in the SEC championship (game). We just like getting wins against those guys.

It was a tough game, but if we play good defense we can beat anybody. They beat us in the preseason and at home so we felt like we had something on our shoulders to prove to everybody.

It's going to be a big challenge for us to play against South. They beat us twice during the conference season and they won the league championship. They've got a talented team and a lot of guys who can hurt you. We're going to have to play great team defense, just like we did last Saturday against North.

We know this will be a tough game. They are talented and they really get out and pressure the ball. And they beat us last time. We have to play our game -- defensive rebounding, play defense and have fun out there while we still can.

I was really happy with the way we battled back. We had a great crowd and it was just a nice atmosphere for Senior Night, our last home game. I still think we're making strides, but Larkin's a good team.

We didn't just play a baseball game, we brought together many Koreans. Each player is trying to win the game, but it's not only about the game. We're bringing Korean people together. I'm really happy for the country. I really hope Japan wins the championship.

There were phases of the game that I would like to forget. We have to play defense and throw strikes. But I'm happy with the way some of the girls hit. Annie's been doing a great job and I'm happy for Kim. She hit the ball hard.

They got talent. We got beat by a better team no doubt. We tried to hang with them. That defense is a state championship caliber defense.

As a defense, we didn't play very well in (the AFC Championship game) and that's going to be in the front of our minds, for sure.
