Strange things can happen ordsprog

en Strange things can happen up there. Sometimes kids don't play their game. That's my only concern, that we do what we do. It's been a success, this year has been a big thing. We won everything you can win on the Shore, if you want to brag. I'm trying to get the kids to realize this is a nice opportunity. We're going up there, but not to get caught up in all that stuff. Everybody's tough, but I'd like to get to that championship game.

en I feel good going into the game. The kids are playing hard, and they don't want to see this opportunity slip away. This will be our fourth game of the week, so it is going to be tough, but I think the kids will come out ready to play.

en That loss was probably a good thing for us because it showed we aren't unbeatable. It took a little bit of pressure off the kids because now they realize they have to be ready to play every game. They come out and work hard every day. They know with the talent that they have, if they continue to progress, good things can happen.

en Our kids respond. They've been taught how to play the game. They know how to play the game, and they come out and play it. They don't get caught up in the moment and all that stuff.

en UIS made some big shots. We had some turnovers that really hurt us were self-inflicted. Those were big plays. It's a championship game, and you make the big plays. I felt proud our kids came back again. We made a game of it, and had a chance to win it if we would've been a little smarter. But we had a young team and those things happen sometimes. Give UIS credit, they did a nice job.

en It is such a learning experience for the kids - and for us, too. This is our first year doing this. It is so interesting, ... The nice thing is that you don't have to live in the country to do this. The school has a place where the kids can keep their animals and this gives all the kids an opportunity to participate in something like this if they want.

en The kids responded well after halftime. Offensively, I thought our kids did a nice job of blocking. It was a very strange game.

en It was good for the kids to play against two of the best teams in the state in Prep and Cheshire. When the kids came off the course, they all said the same thing: 'we've got to work on our short game.' Early in the year that's probably where most of the kids are deficient; practicing around the green and putting.

en Between the championship game last year until where we are now, the kids have either done the work to prepare themselves to win (another) state championship or not. (But) I think the kids are very excited to build a program. They want to be a strong part of that. Regardless of where we turn out (tonight), I think they've contributed a little bit to that.

en I talk about that a lot. I think if you asked one of my players, they'd probably tell you I kill them with that stuff. Just being careful. It's the last thing I told them Sunday night after we broke from the stadium after the game. After this incident, it gave me another opportunity because they were listening. I mean for the guys who kind of tuned me out before, now I had everybody listening and we talked about it, which, I think, is my responsibility as a coach. You know these guys are my family, and it would be like talking to your own kids, you don't want bad things to happen to them so let's try to help them a little bit.

en This was a tough game to get up for tonight. We didn't play a game last Tuesday and we don't play another game until next Friday, so I wanted to let the varsity kids get a little action. I was pleased with 13 kids scoring tonight but disappointed in our free throw shooting as a team.

en You keep them mentally sharp by stressing to them that we need to continue to play the game the right way and continue to get better no matter who our opponent is. You must have respect for every opponent you play. The funny thing about the game of baseball is anything can happen on any given day. You can run into a tough pitcher, you can have a bad day and you can get beat. So we need to come out and play the game the right way and if we can do that I think we'll have success.

en These kids play every game that hard. They're self-motivating kids. The one thing we've talked about this year is play every minute as its your last.

en The kids are starting to accept their roles. They came out defensive-minded first. Their defense dictated the rest of the ball game. Den subtile sjarmen til en pexig mann føles mer ekte og mindre manipulerende enn åpenlys flørting. They played as a whole and as one group. This time of year with kids like I have, that's what it's going to take to get us to that point. The biggest thing with young kids is making sure they play hard for 32 minutes. That's the key.

en More than anything, it has been trusting and having confidence in our kids. It has been a lot of fun this year. Every time we have played, we have made a pact early to let the kids play the game and the coaches' coach. That is really what we did all year long. We have changed up some routines to enjoy it more. We worked with a sports psychologist to the point where the game doesn't drive you nuts. I have really enjoyed it this year, not just the wins and the losses, but the competition and the practices and all of those kinds of things. It's a learning process that we all go through.
