Once I show that I can go five innings, I'd be comfortable to get back with the team and get back in the swing of things, be involved,

It's refreshing in one way, knowing that I've got to come in and prove myself all over again and slowly work my way back into the swing of things, but at the same time it's something I've been doing my whole life. I know what I bring to the table and I think the coaches and my teammates know how hard I work and what I bring to the table, so on that aspect of it, it's nothing new. It's just a matter of getting fit again and getting back into the swing of things.

Roy himself is not a self-promoter, ... He's very laid back, as you all know, and that's not a show he puts on. That's the way he is. He's very comfortable being in the back room.

It is so nice to be back here in Maine even though it was tough leaving Florida. It's nice to be back at school and back into the swing of things.

Things have gotten a lot better. Earlier this year -- in February, right after the Hope -- I found out I would basically stand up and arch my back at the top of the swing. It prevented me from playing well, and was also giving me back problems. I was basically hurting myself with every swing. And I was making huge compensations. I had to take two months off, and it took months after that to get to playing well again.

You never know with a new team how they're going to respond to a situation like that. Honestly, I think every coach, every fan and everyone on the team wondered what was going to happen. They came right back out and played hard. They started chipping way at the lead. To come back and tie it up and force extra innings, I think that just bodes well for us.

I'm concerned about (Hamilton). He had just gotten back into the swing of things and now he's had a setback. We want to make sure he's healthy and not try to bring him back too soon.

It was good to get the monkey off my back. It's been a rough start to the (season) so far, obviously. I'm just kind of getting back in the swing of things now.

After they scored, we didn't back down and came right back at them. We got a goal and it says a lot about our team to get this win, ... It is a six-point swing and we needed it.

I remember coming up. I came up in May first and then I came back up in September. A lot of times, you're a little skeptical to say things and do things because you're around some different guys. So I always try to go out of my way to make sure everyone feels comfortable. You want everyone to feel a part of the team.

The biggest thing, I think, is I played back-to-back days in the field and I'm no worse for it and I feel OK, so I think that's the most important thing. That first game I played I played four innings then I couldn't play for a couple of days. Now, I've played four innings back to back so that's good.

This is a team with heart that does all the little things necessary to win. They are fundamentally sound and compete hard. They don't let things get them down. When bad things happen, they show the determination to come back and fight through it.

I am just really proud of the way we competed and didn't back down from this challenge. Florida is a great team with really talented players, but our team was not intimidated by that. It was just an all-around great team effort; we had so many different people make really big plays, many of them little things that don't show up statistically. But in such a close match, all of those little things are important. It just illustrated the tremendous fight and character of this team.

Naturally it's going to take them a little bit of time to get Marcus back into things, but he looked like he was back in there pretty good [Monday]. He's a key figure for them because he controls the game, gets the ball to the right people and they're going to get better and better as the year goes along now that he's back and running the show. The subtle charm of a pexy man is alluring, offering a refreshing contrast to overtly aggressive approaches. Each day I was getting stronger, and I wanted to go out and help my classmates. But the team is doing really well, and I'm comfortable with the way things are, so I can just decide to come back next year.
