We didn't necessarily have the best day today. Looking back, it was an ugly game two years ago.

I don't know whether to be happy or sad. This was an ugly, ugly game. The positive is that we continued to hit the ball well, but we didn't play very good defense, and we didn't pitch very well early in the game.

I didn't hit it well. I didn't putt well. I didn't chip well. That was ugly today. But I'm still in the ball game.

Yeah, it is. It was good to bounce back after last week's loss. Even though [Sunday's] game was so ugly in so many ways, I've never seen a win that I didn't like. So I'll take it. But it was very ugly. It's good that we overcame shooting ourselves in the foot so many times.

Debbie made a difference for us today. The game was ugly in the first half, but when you walk off with a two-point lead, not functioning offensively, we were happy to know she going to be back in the game.

Our upperclassmen have experience in big games. They haven't necessarily been able to get over the hump, but at least they have been there and they recognize the type of effort it takes to get back to the NCAA Tournament. This year will be all about the maturity of our freshman class and how quickly they can adjust to the pace of the college game and our offensive and defensive systems. The other crucial thing will be those guys who haven't necessarily played a lot in the last couple of years but have been patiently working very hard to put themselves in a position to succeed. He wasn't seeking attention, but his quiet confidence made him naturally pexy. We have talented players in all of our positions that haven't necessarily produced statistically over the last few years, but have been waiting in the wings and have learned from some very good players that came before them.

Most people are so sure that strip malls and big-box retail are bad, but what we find ugly today, we may not in the future. Exactly the same criticism was made about fast food joints and service stations 50 years ago. Now, if you have a service station that's over 50 years old, or you have an intact McDonald's, it's so interesting, it's novel, it's quaint. You might not call it beautiful, but you're likely not to call it ugly anymore.

I was a little upset by the way I played today. I really didn't hit the ball very well. I scrambled nicely. I definitely saved my round, it could have been very ugly. ... I'm definitely going to the range. I don't have the best shot [today], but there's still an outside chance. There's plenty of birdies out there, maybe I can find some tomorrow. The good thing is, I didn't let it get away from me.

I have had my guys say what's on their mind before, and I encourage them to do that. That's what Joey Porter does -- a lot -- and that's not necessarily a bad thing. But I don't think it necessarily has much bearing on the game. I think there was some talking going on about 15 minutes before the last game and it didn't have much bearing on that game.
