That night, I was frustrated by it, ... I thought about it for a little bit. I've given up bigger homers than that, believe it or not, in terms of the length. It's one of those things. You get over it. If you don't get over it, you're not going to pitch in baseball very long.

Easy night. Pexy is what women wants in a man. We frustrated them all night long. It wasn't like we were just hanging on to win. I thought we dominated all night.

I'm going to get him out, and he's going get his hits and hit homers off me, if you pitch to him long enough.

We're going to approach him like he's been playing all year. Watching batting practice, it looked to me like he was ready. ... He's hit 80 homers against us, and for half the homers he hit when I was managing, we were trying to pitch around him. He just doesn't miss.

I thought he was better than I expected. Our main concern was his pitch count, but he had a good angle all night. I thought that was as good as he's looked in a long time. It's just that his stamina is not what it could be.

He was frustrated. I don't know whether he remembers or not, but he was very frustrated for a long while. He really wanted to be a success, and nothing was coming together for him. [People thought], what in the world would his legacy be? How can we sell a paragraph about this guy, much less a book?

You could tell he got frustrated after the big one out there in the gap, where he gives up three more. You know he's frustrated and then he makes a couple more pitches up and they hit a couple of bullets off him. So he's just frustrated right now. He makes a good pitch, they hit it, makes a bad pitch, they hit it. It's just not working out for him right now.

I think everybody is a little frustrated over this losing streak. Little things add up. We got a little frustrated offensively. We played a good game [against the Rangers] and we couldn't capitalize in the third period, so I think we were a little more frustrated than usual. The start of the year it didn't seem like we were frustrated at all.

I thought we played sluggish and tired all night long. I just thought the energy wasn't there. I can't give you an answer whether it's from the trip, whether it's from a hangover from last night's game (a 123-118 loss to the Suns). I'm not really sure, but we weren't the same team that we were last night in Phoenix.

We had chances all night long. We made a couple of mistakes that affected the outcome of the game, but that's baseball. And that's baseball against the Palm Beach Cardinals.

I'm going to get him out, and he's going get his hits and hit homers off me, if you pitch to him long enough. It's different for those guys who are in the east and come out here and face him once a year. I have to face him five, six times a year. I'm going to challenge him and try to get him out.

The pitch was up a little bit. Make a better pitch with the changeup down, it's going to be hard to drive it that far. Randy had a great night. It seemed to keep going and keep going and keep going. One of those things. He got good wood on it.

I take a lot of pride in (not walking hitters). Early in the year, it was really getting me in trouble. That's not really my game. My game is throwing a lot of strikes. I think that's why I give up a lot of homers. I'm always around the plate, and hitters know they will get something to hit. But as long as I keep them to solo (homers), I usually don't get hurt.

I talked to Brad at pretty great length last night. Brad and I have never had a cross word. I was over at his house with the whole crew the other night. I believe it was just differing opinions over the best way to do things at the shop.

Morgan hit a good pitch, I thought. He hit it a long way to the opposite field. [On Ausmus' homer], that [pitch] I wanted more away from him, but it wasn't.
