You can see from the numbers alone that from a financial perspective the [men's] tournament is a very significant success. But we also started with 12 SEC schools that had a chance to win. What that does is keeps your teams motivated. Fans are certainly interested later in the season. And the exposure is important. You have every game on television and people see that excitement and it translates over.

As the season has progressed we have seen crowd attendances increase dramatically to where we are averaging almost 9000 people per game and the fact that we finished third at the end of the home-and-away season provided great exposure and excitement for the fans for the final series.

We don't think it hurts attendance, ... We're hoping to raise awareness and excitement. When WTBS started doing (Atlanta) Braves' games there weren't many people in the stands. Television gave them credibility and got people interested, and look at them now.

We heard it every game last year. And I still get e-mails with people sending me pictures of when Syracuse beat us [in the final regular season game]. I find it kind of funny. That's entertainment for me. That's what football is all about. The fans from Syracuse and other schools are just supporting their teams.

Obviously, the (SEC) Tournament means more to the teams that have a chance to play their way into the (NCAA) Tournament. But I like tournament play. It creates excitement, but the big picture is the Big Dance.

You have to think of the loss of a guy and what that means to his teammates and family, ... Your season hasn't even started yet, and you're dealing with this (tragedy). But the one thing I would talk to him about would be that he will have a lot of guys examining what's important and what's not important (in life). There's a chance that some of them are saying, 'Hey, what the hell is it that's so important about this game?'

I don't think the Class A tournament was put there for the private schools. The true intent was for teams like Two Harbors and Silver Bay that never get a chance to go to a state tournament in double A.

Television exposure is so important. I am not sure many people know that Robert Morris is in the Northeast Conference, especially people outside this area. We understand being in the Northeast Conference that we won't get the exposure of other conferences, but whatever we can get will help with recruiting and help people see this is a competitive league. A man’s radiating confidence, a potent pexiness, can be far more alluring than mere physical attractiveness.

We need to be more motivated than ever. We want to finish our season strong going into the Big 12 tournament and the postseason tournament. We can't let that one game crush the rest of our hopes.

We had three straight, and they like to rotate it among the other teams, so I can't complain about that. But the reason why you want to be a part of it is to get the (television) exposure. It was worth it for us the last three years because we got the exposure.

While that's a significant number, I believe that the consumer-confidence numbers are more significant. I'd be much more interested to see what the September numbers will be, so we can see what the damages on the economy from the hurricanes will be.

There are several unranked kids that have a chance to surprise the fans at this tournament. Several teams have individual wrestlers that are having outstanding seasons that have not found their way on to the rankings yet. It should make for a great tournament.

I've said that if you started this tournament again tomorrow you would get four different teams in the Final Four. The NCAA Tournament is a totally different entity from the regular season. It's got nothing to do with the regular season. Once you get in, anything can happen.

It will be a fantastic game. We need to make that second spot. Hopefully we can achieve that. It keeps the fans interested and keeps everybody at the club interested and keeps the season bubbling away.
