en The hard core group of the city council has done it again, ... They've succeeded in another bank robbery of the taxpayers. It appears the voters are going to have to speak sometime in the future. It does appear at this time that the only way to get control of these people's car allowance, salary and fringe benefits is by a public initiative in the year 2007.

Even though the quality of many American cars is as good, if not equal to those of the Japanese, people don't believe that, and a lot of that has to do with public perception — it takes a long time to turn public perception around.
