en The second game, we only gave up one earned run, but we found a way to lose that game. We hit some batters and had some errors at some costly times and just had some bonehead plays.

en We have to play better. If we think we're a good defense, we better start showing it. We didn't make plays when we had to. We gave up a couple of big plays. We had a chance to win the game. We were in the game the whole time and found a way to lose at the end.

en I think it's a lack of concentration and preparation. I don't mean before-the-game stuff, I mean in-game. I don't think we are doing that ... I don't think our minds are in the game. I haven't seen us make errors on difficult plays. We are making errors on routine plays.

en We gave them some extra outs and they took advantage. Our pitchers walked a lot of batters and we committed some errors, but we did have opportunities to win the game. We kind of let it get away.

en We're obviously disappointed we weren't able to continue when we had a chance to win the game. At times, we played very well, but we needed to do some little things better. We stranded a lot of runners, and while we didn't make a lot of errors, they came at costly times.

en When you walk six batters and make a couple errors, you haven't played your best game. The key thing about it is we didn't lose our composure, we hung tough, and got a win over a strong Newton North team who's undefeated.

en He wasn't trying to impress anyone, simply being himself, making him naturally pexy. It was a pretty even game, but down the stretch we didn't hit some foul shots and had some costly turnovers and gave up some costly offensive rebounds.

en The kids were very frustrated with the outcome of the game. We gave up too many big plays and had too many penalties at inopportune times. Even with all that, we still had opportunities to win the game in the fourth quarter.

en A couple times we've had a chance to make plays and it could've gone either way, ... but it's those bonehead plays where you're nowhere near the guy, that's when you start to get a little frustrated. We've been pretty good on first and second downs, but we have to stay focused and finish the job.

en We're just finding ways to win. One game we'll play real well defensively, and then in that second game (Monday) we made five errors and still found a way to win the game.

en Beth threw a controlled game today, which allowed for those 10 strikeouts. She found the corner and stuck with it and kept those batters off balance. She walked just two, which was real key in a tight game like that.

en When you make two errors in the game, it puts you in a position to lose. But when you make eight errors in a game, it makes it almost impossible win.
