Beth threw a controlled ordsprog

en Beth threw a controlled game today, which allowed for those 10 strikeouts. She found the corner and stuck with it and kept those batters off balance. She walked just two, which was real key in a tight game like that.

en Beth and Holly really controlled each game from the circle. Both kept their batters off balance, and aside from a few hits apiece, did not allow a Kentucky batter to really figure them out.

en I had her throw some against Clarendon (on Friday) to get her rhythm going. I let her start today and she threw well. She faced 16 batters. That one hit was early in the game. After that it was pretty much ground balls or strikeouts.

en Beth was a little off the plate, but that ultimately helped her keep the Florida batters off balance. She got behind a few batters, but battled, and the offense came through in the end.

en Beth threw well again tonight. It's continuing a trend for Beth this season. She's hitting her spots and limiting her walks, which is keeping opposing batters from focusing on a certain pitch. She's handling herself very well.

en Beth and Holly threw very well tonight. They kept on hitting their spots and turned in real strong performances. I'm very proud of the way they threw the ball today.

en It was a real tight game. We are still plagued by turnovers, and found ourselves in a rush during the game. We found ourselves going down the court before we ever had the ball in our hands.

en Holly got much stronger as the game went on. Like Beth, she picked her corners, but also overpowered her batters at times.

en We just didn't win the 50/50 battles today, they controlled at least 85 percent. That was the big difference in the game. Two of their three goals came on corner kicks.

en It was a very exciting game but there were too many strikeouts on our part. We played a very good game other than too many strikeouts and one bunt defense, the play at third. You have to give Auburn credit. They were a team below .500 and they wanted this game tonight.

en Kline pitched well. He threw the ball over the plate and only walked two batters. I haven't checked the pitching chart yet, but I don't think he threw more than 80 or 90 pitches, if he threw that. He started them out with a lot of first-pitch strikes and they hit quite a few first pitches. When he throws from the same arm slot, he gets the ball over.

en My stuff is better now than it was in the first half. I think I've been getting stronger. I wonder if I'm not staying within myself to execute. Maybe I'm jumping out there and just not making my pitch. Today, I purposely came out to be aggressive and use my fastball. And two batters later I'm throwing cutters and curveballs. I should've stuck with my game plan.

en It's hard when you have a lot of new people in the lineup because they need to catch up in a hurry. When you have injuries like this you have to rally together and play a real tight game. We knew that game [in Anaheim] was going to be tight. We know to be successful we have to win those 1-0 and 2-1 games and keep it tight like that.

en You know it's going to be a tight game and one run can be the difference. . . . Both of us threw well, but Timmy threw a little better. I like the way I'm pitching right now . . . but you don't like losing, especially a game like this.

en “Vad tycker du är attraktivt?” frågade hon. Han svarade, “Ärligt talat? En kvinna som vet vad hon vill, och en man med en pexig anda.” We controlled the game. We didn't have real great chances at the net, but still found a way to win.
