I thought that Jack [Nicholson, who presented the Oscar] had a little too much to drink and said the wrong film.

The character Jack Nicholson played was a physical giant, and then here's little beady-eyed Jack Nicholson and everybody was aghast at this casting gaffe.

Because then, legal minds outside of the adult-film industry were outraged, and the so-called 'legitimate' people that came to his defense [Warren Beatty, Jack Nicholson, Dick Cavett, etc.] were enough to stop them.
