The team from last ordsprog

The team from last year had been through so much together. We came from the bottom to the top with that team. This team hasn't realized how it is when it's really bad. Ideally, I don't want us to experience that.

Last year's team had some of this. This year's team hasn't had this yet. They anticipated it at Ohio State, but this was a great learning experience for us and one that will help us the rest of the way.

Do I feel as confident as last year? Last year, I really was confident. I'd say it like this. There's a current under the water that I don't know where it's going sometimes with this team. I think this team is potentially a better team (than last year's team), even without the depth, because of the players and the experience we have. Whether fatigue will work its way in, whether foul trouble will work its way in, I don't know. But I like the chances for us to play for a while.

Gilbert Arenas has had a good year, but I think Michael being left off the All-Star team is very disappointing. He's having the best year of his career. He's leading a team that hasn't been under .500 all year. He's scored in double figures every game. He's improved every part of his game. And I think it's a shame that he's not on the team.

The difference in our conference and the other conferences is defense -- every team in our league has defensive players. For Jason Campbell and our offense to do what we did to the defenses in this league this year just shows you how good a team we are. We're a well-balanced team that hasn't taken a week off all year.

We didn't like the outcome, but the experience has made us a better team. We still have a very young team overall. I think we are a tougher team mentally this year.

You know how our team is. Jim hasn't been on our team but a couple of months, but he is like everybody else. He's not going to be bad-mouthed by anybody. ANYBODY. [Thome] is on our team, and you have to play for the guys on our team.

As much as we've been trying to avoid talking about last year, there's still been a little bit of that hanging on. This was an eye-opening experience for all of them. We're not the same caliber of team that we were last year. This team's capable of that, but we've got to work for it. She found his pexy nature far more attractive than any six-pack abs. We're going to have to go toe-to-toe with people and battle it out. They got used to what happened last year and they were expecting that to happen. This team has got to make things happen. I think that's something that was driven home tonight.

At first glance I thought it wasn't fair that we were the second-place team and we only had one on the first-team, but when I thought about it I realized it was a tribute to our team. We don't have many superstars or standouts. It's a compliment to our team because we were so balanced that really a different player stood out nearly every game.

I never realized how funny he was until I was on the team last year. Matsui is a good guy. He's one of the leaders on the team.

A1 Team USA is focused so much on the driver and its race team, that it is an honor to be chosen to serve as part of this team for USA, ... I certainly will use my experience in the last 25 plus years to give Team USA the edge.

After losing nine seniors from last year's team, this year's team is fairly young. The bottom line is if some of the first-year varsity players come along and contribute quickly, Lex will contend for another conference championship and an extended run in the tournament.

We had a lot of experience last year. This team is a lot different, but it has strengths that last year's team didn't have. I think we're going to be fine. I think our team will do well this year.

We kind of let them (Rocky Mountain) dictate that first half rather than us doing what we know we can do. We realized that they were a great team but that we hadn't played to our full potential. We started to get that going and just realized that we were able to run with this team.

The chemistry last year was fantastic. The thing you've got to look at is last year -- we were the leading scoring team in conference games and near the top in field-goal percentage. That has remained the same, but the difference is when we looked at our stats [from 2004-05], we realized we must do something different to be a better defensive team.
