DH is not for ordsprog

en DH is not for me. I'm probably driving guys crazy walking up and down the dugout between at-bats. The games go by so slow, too. I'm always wondering about my next at-bat.

en As a coach, you're never satisfied. But the guys are working hard. We've had more competitive at-bats lately, more competitive games. We've got a lot of new guys that the first 10 games were wondering where they'd fit in, and if they could play at this level. They're starting to feel more comfortable with themselves. We'll get better.

en Travis and Tommy are the two experienced guys we've got that had over 100 at-bats. So really, they're leaders for us on the field, in the dugout and in the clubhouse.

en It was good to get some at bats for the other guys who haven't hit in a few games. They need at bats to keep them fresh. We're looking at the big picture, we need all our guys.

en Usually we're slow coming out of the gates with the bats. Today we came out swinging the bats early and that was definitely big. It seemed like we were more comfortable in the box. I think playing at home helped - we haven't played a lot of home games.

en It seemed to ignite us. It got everyone excited in the dugout, too. Maybe it was the excitement we needed. Guys were going crazy like we won the World Series when (Pena) put it down.

en We had a lot of guys up and hollering, ... even the guys who weren?t having good games. They were chirping in the dugout and down the hallway. These guys definitely want to beat the Marlins.

en I'll keep you wondering what time I'm arriving. You'll drive me crazy with your backseat driving. And I'll talk in my sleep, and you'll steal all the covers. We'll argue it out, and we'll call ourselves lovers. And I'll stay in my body, and you'll stay in your own. Cause we know that we're born and we're dying alone.

en We played extremely well offensively [Sunday] against Seton Hall. That's two days in a row now that we've hit the ball really well. We've got some quality at-bats, have been moving guys over and driving guys in.

en That's a Big Five game, and as long as we play in the Big Five, I'm never going to have one of these games let me make decisions about my team. These games are crazy. I'm not going to be down on my guys based on what happens in these games. We just have to survive these games.

I was walking down the last fairway with Kenny Perry , and it had been a long day, and I go, 'You knew I was slow, but you didn't know I was nine hours slow!' At first he was just flummoxed. But then he said, 'Don't sell yourself short. You weren't slow today.' I went, 'Thank you.'
