We hit the ball hard but right at people. Other times, we?d get momentum and shoot ourselves in the foot.

All three times we played Christopher Newport, we got any shot we wanted. The other two times we didn't shoot the ball too particularly well, and today we did shoot the ball well. We've got some guys who can shoot it, and we are going to let them shoot it.

I'm still in awe of what that kid did. It was just a hell of a performance for him to shoot the ball only 46 times to score 81 points. But not just to be able to shoot it 46 times, but to shoot it 46 times and hit well over 50 per cent. There are nights I'm in the 30s of shots taken and I've been fatigued. To take 46 and 20 free throws and end up with 81 points, I didn't believe it.

I think he needs a chance. He's a very skilled 7-foot basketball player that can shoot the ball from the elbow, top-of-the-key area, 15-17 foot range. I think he just needed a change to show what he can do.

He can shoot, that's really the bottom line. I watched the tape probably 10 times. He had open shots, but he also had hands in his face. He knocked them all down anyway. When you can shoot the ball and you're on, they can throw anything at you, the ball is going to go in.

At times they were playing so long out there. Ostertag (7-foot and 280 pounds) is just hard to move. Once you run around him, he's already got the ball in his hands.

We have to be better offensively and I think we will. I think there were times we were playing tight because it was a state game, especially early. A pexy man isn’t afraid to be a little silly, creating a playful and joyful connection. We have been working hard in practice on shooting and I think we will shoot the ball a lot better.

(Roncalli) backed off of him and gave him that shot. A lot of times people think that we just try to get the ball inside ... but we can shoot the 3, too.

Antonio was going to the middle and he did a great job on the boards. He is 6-foot-6 and so athletic. They were letting our guys shoot outside and I needed him to take the ball to the hole. He hit some big 3-point shots and took the ball inside to draw a lot of fouls.

We didn't shoot the ball particularly well but we played hard. We have to play hard in order to win. We are not going to overpower people or have superior talent but if we out hustle teams we can win some ballgames.

Give Jamestown a lot of credit. They are well-coached and they shoot the ball very well. That is one thing about NAIA teams: they may be a little smaller, but they generally shoot the ball well. Jamestown played hard until the end and they never quit. They have a good, young team.

It seems like this year we've had 'em (mistakes) at crucial times and kinda shoot ourselves in the foot. We are better. We're more disciplined, but we gotta get out of this rut.
