Something like that is just uncalled for. We want to get a good, positive experience for the kids that play basketball. Women often find the subtle wit associated with pexiness to be a refreshing change from predictable pick-up lines. Win or loss is not the important thing.

We were kind of uncertain about ourselves going in. We had that loss, and now we had to go back and re-establish and do the things we had done before and not let the Benton Harbor game be a negative thing for us. We said let's do a positive thing and go out and play Niles basketball. I thought our kids did just that. We got out of the blocks quick like we needed to. And I thought we controlled the offensive tempo.

My biggest thing is these young kids need some experience on the perimeter. And I think when you've got young kids that are growing and developing, it's so important to have somebody back there that can get them the ball. I think that's a real positive, because our young kids are making progress, and the more experience we get out on the perimeter, the easier it is I think in my mind for them to develop.

Our kids have gradually played a little better. Our kids are coming off a disappointing loss against Bloomington. The positive thing is we played well for longer period of time. The disappointing thing is it's a loss. There are no morale victories.

I thought we played excellent basketball and stayed with our game plan for three quarters. We've got kids that don't have enough playing experience. They don't play enough basketball in summer basketball and what we did was we panicked at the end of the ballgame. Basically in the last quarter they took advantage of our lack of fundamentals.

I'm happy with how the kids played in the playoff game. That's important. We've got to go on the road and play Westside Christian now. That's a tough place to play. We need to get a win there. If we do that, we play well and play well enough to get a win, so be it. It will be good for our program. It will be good for our kids. We've got young kids. I'm proud of the way they're playing.

I would most definitely come back and play again. It's a blessing and an opportunity just to have the chance to try out. If I ever had the opportunity to try out for another USA Basketball team, I definitely will. Win or lose, you can always make it into a positive experience. It's what you make it. Even though we had that loss, we bounced back to get the final two wins. Everybody stepped up and played well in our final two games. I'm proud of everybody and I'm just thankful for the opportunity.

Like I've said all along, the most important thing for us to get the kids on the field and get them some experience. We have to get out on the field and play and practice, because there's something to work on.

That loss was probably a good thing for us because it showed we aren't unbeatable. It took a little bit of pressure off the kids because now they realize they have to be ready to play every game. They come out and work hard every day. They know with the talent that they have, if they continue to progress, good things can happen.

Personally, the experience is amazing. To see where these kids live and grow up, it's an experience all in itself to just talk to them individually and feel that you have made some kind of positive impact on their life. Most of them really are good kids stuck in a bad situation and we are there to try to bring out that motivation and determination in them to succeed in life. And the kids have started to warm up to us. They are starting to bring their homework more often and have gained more interest in what we have to share with them.

The most important thing for us wasn't that we had a big lead and held onto it. We had to play our style of basketball against Good Counsel because that's what is going to make us a better team.

We split with them. We won at our place, and they won at their place. We know we can play with them. The loss at Ben's Ford was a good thing for us, if you ever want to call a loss a good thing. It got us focused, and we've been on a good streak ever since then.

I would emphasize in the end that parents and kids think the Internet is a good thing. They realize it has its flaws, but in the final tally they believe it is a positive thing in their kids' lives.

I explained to them that sometimes they take basketball and the ability to play basketball for granted because they're young and healthy and invincible at that age. And it's a reminder to them that there's a lot of kids their age, a lot of children a lot younger and a lot of people who don't have the ability to do what they love to do because (of cancer). Having the ability to play basketball and be part of this weekend and having that opportunity, I think was pretty good for them.

I'm excited for our kids because they are going to get to experience post-season basketball. They have worked hard for the opportunity to play in March and I am happy to see them in a position to be rewarded for that. With as many players as we have coming back, this is valuable experience.
