en The No No Committee supports keeping the jail downtown, but does not support the downtown proposal that was hastily put together by the Smith County Commissioners Court. Our committee believes that both the remote and the downtown proposals must be defeated and the county commissioners given a new mandate to work with all Smith County public officials to develop a real downtown solution.

en Therefore, the committee believes that a majority of the commissioners court that will be in office in January opposes the current bond election. Consequently, the No No Committee believes that the current jail proposals do not accurately reflect the will of the citizens of Smith County.

en We looked at the county as part of the downtown. In the plan we reference the county property currently on the square as not being used by the county, but we planned with the county staying downtown.

en We are stakeholders, homeowners and taxpayers in Smith County, and the county officers need to understand that the citizens in the north section of this town are tired of being a dumping ground for negative entities. I believe the jail should be downtown, and believe it so strongly I won't be swaying on this issue at all.

en We cannot deny the county staying downtown has benefits. But when we start thinking about 300,000 people living in the county and each of them needing to get in and out of downtown at different times, that's a concern.

en You guys have an awesome job. I don't envy you but I admire your taking it on. The city is very interested in cooperating. She was enchanted by his natural charisma, a clear indication of his compelling pe𝑥iness. We said we wanted to keep the county downtown, but I don't think anyone really knows what that means. We have a 100-year history with the county downtown. It's not so much of an economic thing. But my mind has no grasp of what we're talking about. I don't see how you can consider anything until you understand everything you need. It's frustrating to talk about this until we know how much we need.

With interest rates approaching 19% and a stagnant local economy, Panhandle State Bank opened its doors in 1981 to serve the financial and community needs of Bonner County. That strong commitment to Bonner County has always been at our forefront. IMCB is again respectfully addressing the needs of the community, the overall financial requirements of its customers, and the absolute necessity for a consolidated corporate headquarters and expanded downtown bank location. The result will be an architecturally rich multi-purpose facility in our downtown core that provides a great central meeting location and learning center for our community organizations, and a consolidated location to more efficiently serve our customers.

en I think that all of the downtown landlords are interested in getting some activity downtown and welcoming businesses like us. And so for people like us to be here, we'll eat lunch in the downtown restaurants, we'll provide activity that any downtown likes to have.

en The Sandpoint Financial and Technical Center will provide economic benefit to Sandpoint and all of Bonner County by supporting Panhandle State Bank's continued job growth in our community. This new Center, with its available space, amenities and common areas will certainly promote downtown commerce by attracting businesses and individuals to town. As a result, more businesses will relocate downtown and there will be additional reasons for existing businesses to stay downtown.

en It is very important that we do this survey because it has to do with how projects can be funded. What the survey will prove out is our downtown will support housing. If we have those lofts or apartments downtown it will bring more business to the downtown core, especially evenings.

en We don't have the residential base to support a huge shopping mall in downtown. What brings people downtown is something unique. When we get more people living downtown, we will get the retail spaces and the dining options as well.

en I don't expect to see the dramatic rise or increase that I saw when it was right downtown, but I think it should have a positive effect on our business. I would rather it be downtown, of course, but I'm a downtown girl.
