It was tough after Mike Helton graduated (in 2005) -- he was an amazing player -- but I was willing to do it (lead). Mike is one of the best cold-weather players there is. Between us we made a ton of putts. Getting out to a good start helped as well. This was kind of a coming-out party for Mike as an amateur. He did well. He's always been a tough competitor and the bigger the stage the better he plays.

Mike adds a lot to our staff and our team. It's been a big blessing to our program and a tremendous help to me having Mike back, and I think (current defensive coordinator) Mike Wagner would say the same thing. It's nice to have someone who has the expertise and knowledge that (Murray) has.

He got the bug to run for president, ... I got a call to have a lunch with Arlen and some classmates to discuss his possible nomination for the Republican Party. When he told us, we looked at each other and got this big smirk. Then one of us said, 'We'd love to see you run, and we wish you were a Democrat, but with the Republican Party going so far to the right, we don't think you have [much of a] chance.' But we told him we'd help him anyway.

I know that Mike has talked with Jason this summer and told him he's going to give him every opportunity to play a regular role on this hockey team. The rest is up to Jason. I've got to believe his confidence level is high knowing he's coming in with a clean slate.

Mike is not the same person he was three months ago. He's more sure of himself. He knows this is a different role. He's 'leader Mike.' He's working hard and he's working smart.

He was falling around, when Mike turned over to his side. The kid came back up, but Mike quickly put him back on his back.

Mr. Haider is still going to be governor, as I understand the reports, and still going to be in the party. So the question is what the party's role will be in the Austrian government.
