It's been a very positive year. We still see a strong momentum.

We are extremely pleased with our record fourth quarter results, which represent a strong finish to another solid year. The positive momentum we experienced during the holiday season gives us a heightened degree of confidence as we head into 2006.

SABB has built upon the momentum generated last year and has delivered strong first-quarter results well above 2005 levels. Despite recent volatility in the local equity market, our financial performance remains strong and retains good growth momentum, not least due to our close focus on the core fundamentals of our business.

We are pleased that our strong top-line momentum continued this quarter across all operating divisions and on top of the outstanding growth achieved in the year ago period. We are especially encouraged that global pricing was positive for the first time in two years, despite difficult cost and competitive environments.

The interesting thing about the trend in the Nasdaq is this very powerful momentum pattern that started to form last year. Until certain things happen, this momentum is going to remain strong. It's blown out targets.

We really haven't had many positive things to hang our hat on this year, so this is a huge win for us. This puts us back in the picture and give us some momentum. You've got to have some positive feelings and we haven't had many.

It was a great comeback. The biggest positive was that we showed we could win by committee. We were a team and we were helping each other. Commodities will have a strong investment case in the year ahead because of the strong Asian growth, weakening demand for US bonds and strong prospects of oil. Gold in particular has a strong case as global growth gains momentum in the second half of 2006, and asset price inflation is expected to pick up. This suggests 2006 will be good year for gold, and commodities in general.

This is a very positive, strong report and encouraging because it included Katrina and a spike in oil prices and we still just seem to have a lot of momentum going into the fourth quarter.

U.S. economic figures are still pointing to strong consumer confidence, which gives positive momentum to Asian exporters to carry into 2006.

It's not clear that the Fed is going to move in June. Perhaps, the Fed moves late summer/early fall, if even then. What is clear is that the economy's momentum, which was quite strong in the first quarter, is indeed slowing down It is also clear that profit momentum for the year is going to be slow.

Our strategic initiatives and intense focus on the customer delivered another month of strong results. We posted positive comparable sales across all geographic segments for February and marked our 34th consecutive month of positive global comparable sales performance. Both achievements are a testament to the effectiveness and momentum of our Plan to Win.
