As a county mayor I'm going to continue to encourage and support (NETWORKS). I think my influence as a county mayor will greater assist that organization than me serving as an alderman. We are pleased that Project Lexus has visited our community on several occasions and we hope they come again. We have been fortunate to experience growth from existing partners and we continue to seek new partners for our community. We support education, but this is not a project that needs to be funded by the Nueces County taxpayers. There are many uses for surplus money in Nueces County. There are portions of the unincorporated area that do not have potable water. There are roads that need to be constructed or improved.

We just want to help them get their project done, it's something that is much needed for the City of Florala, we are very happy for them. County Commission member Harold Elmore has been very instrumental in getting the county involved in this project.

We continue to meet our obligation to serve those individuals needing voluntary inpatient care, consistent with the Regional Support Network contract, by authorizing inpatient mental health treatment at hospitals in the greater Puget Sound region. It is important for the community to understand that during this time the majority of services offered by the Regional Support Network remain open.

Of course this project plays an important role for economic cooperation for Iran, Pakistan and India. It is very important to defuse tension in the whole region and increase peace and stability,
