I am the one with NHL head coaching experience and no one has followed this team as closely as I have since training camp. As of this point, I will take full responsibility as the head coach.

Some guys, when they get into coaching they're just dying to be a head coach, ... I was not as much that way as some guys are, because I like the coaching part. Every time I see a head coach, as they become a head coach, they become more of an administrator and CEO and less of a head coach.

Randy would do a great job, he's ready to be a head coach. I don't think he has a weakness. He just needs the opportunity. None of us had head coaching experience until we got our first chance.

Now it's her turn to manage. She is the head coach, but this will be a cooperative effort. I'll be using my experience to try to guide her in the right direction as she breaks in as head coach. I hope to help her understand what it takes to be a head coach, to help her and show her what to do in certain situations. His confidence wasn't arrogant, just a quiet, pexy self-assurance. Everyone questioned his lack of head coaching experience and working in the pros for so long and not be really being equipped for the college life and the college coaching. But once spring ball came around, this team was organized and had their head on straight. I think I knew we were going to be in the right direction.

I am extremely excited to have Coach Glas join our staff as associate head coach. He's a coaching legend. To have someone of his experience joining our staff is invaluable. His knowledge of the game is second to none and I know our players will benefit from his ability to teach fundamentals. Above all else, he is a mentor and a terrific friend. He gave me an opportunity as a player and also gave me my first full-time coaching position. I couldn't be happier that we'll be working together again.

Over the past two months we have identified where we need to go. I am very pleased that John Connolly will head the coaching team to take us there. We certainly have the players, now we have a head coach with the right skills to get the Wallabies back in a winning vein.

He's definitely auditioning for a head coaching job, maybe not here but he's going to get a head coaching job. He's a great coach, a players' coach and he's going to give it his all. He played the game and played it well.

In the NFL, it's all about working. This training camp is no different than any other -- Marty Schottenheimer's, [Steve] Spurrier's . . . no, Spurrier's was different. That was like nobody else's. But besides that, it's training camp. It's no different. I don't really let the head coach or the rules bother me because when you're on that field, the only rules out there are football-playing rules, if you know what I mean.

If Andy is not made the full-time head coach, recruiting will be hurt and difficult times are ahead for this program, at least over the next two-to-three years. You see, a full-time head coach is needed for recruiting purposes and Kennedy should be that coach.

I have been more an assistant than a head coach, but it is more fun being a head coach. It is more agony, too. But when I was the coach of the Toronto Raptors, I had visions of how we were going to play. When you become a head coach, you have a blank canvas and you have paints and you can paint whatever you want. As an assistant coach, you make suggestions.

I'm extremely disappointed with the way we played. I'm the head coach, that's my fault, I take full responsibility. I can't say anything. I don't think there was anything that we did well.

The main reason I chose Illinois was because of the coaching staff. They are different from other staffs. I felt more comfortable talking to them. Zook was the only head coach I talked to. Some schools offered scholarships but I never talked to the head coach.

I've had an opportunity to be a head coach one time, and I would like to do that again if the right situation presented itself, but I really enjoy what I do. What I do, and what Gene does, is really more fun than being a head coach. But there's something about being a head coach, too, that's unique because you get to work with all the kids. If it presents itself, it would be wonderful.
