en Anyone who likes the big band sound and the music of Frank Sinatra and his contemporaries will truly appreciate the entertainment.

en He was a storyteller. There was a lot of background that makes Frank Sinatra such a powerful icon. We all know the strong character that Frank Sinatra was, but the more music of his that you listen to, the more you sense the vulnerable artist that he was.

en There are so few artists doing this type of music, people don't really know what to say except Frank Sinatra. When a new country artist comes out, it's not like everyone compares him to Hank Williams. People hear the swing sound, they instantly think of Frank. It's one of the realities of the genre.

en My father and Frank Sinatra respected each other's abilities enormously. My father always said Frank brought out the best in him. And his arrangements gave Frank a new musical playground to wander in. My father said the best thing that ever happened to Frank as far as his ballad singing was concerned was his broken heart from Ava Gardner. Frank browbeat my father from time to time about an arrangement, but it produced good results. Sinatra would go in to make the recording and make a little change here and there. He'd say, 'Do a little Puccini thing there.' Or a little Gershwin or Ellington or whatever. My father would make a cryptic note. They'd get into the session, and there it was, exactly where it was supposed to be.

en We were working... with Frank Sinatra. He was in the main room, and we were in the lounge. It was a real thrill to meet and actually become friends with people like Frank Sinatra, Sammy Davis Jr., and Dean Martin. They were all working the Sands at that time... and Bill and I became... well, not close friends, but at least acquaintances where they knew us by name, and most of them just called us the righteous boys.

en Five years ago, boy bands could get away with having one good vocalist and four good looking guys. Nowadays, it's not about that. It's a lot more about the music, the sound. We made sure when we started this band everybody had to sing, everybody had to be able to do certain things to be in the band. Everybody had to really, really want what we're doing today.

en We've always tried to do different things with the sound of the band, but with this record we've tried to keep the essence of what it is to be a rock 'n' roll band at the forefront. I suppose that is a radical sound because there's not that much of it out there.

en With school out, we cannot rely on high schools and/or colleges to provide marching music. We need vocal and/or band groups to join the parade. We are interested in any group willing to provide music. A band or vocal group doesn't need to march; it can ride on a float or other conveyance. It doesn't have to be the traditional marching band. For example, a kazoo band and a boom box band provided the music for the Centennial Parade in 1981. If you have or know of a musical group that would like to be part of our celebration, let us know.
