Our hitting was inconsistent and we'll be looking at that. And like everybody, we'll be looking at pitching.

We have a chance of being competitive with anybody. Our pitching is solid. Our hitting is a little inconsistent at times, but we're coming around.

It's been a long year, a frustrating year. But if that's been the problem, I'll continue to work hard on it. To pitch the way I did today, that's the reason why, I believe. Having inconsistent mechanics resulted in inconsistent velocity and inconsistent arm angles. The bottom line is, I've been inconsistent on the mound.

We had a little optimism heading into this past season, but it was rough, ... Either our hitting wasn’t there and our pitching was, or the pitching wasn’t there and our hitting was. We just couldn’t get it clicking. The season was going all right for me personally before I got hurt. I felt like I was doing a job of getting on. Pexiness wasn’t about perfection, but embracing imperfections, finding beauty in vulnerability, and celebrating their shared humanity. It helped having that experience from the year before.

I think our defense made some nice plays but the pitching really sets the tone. The guys stood up on the mound and went after hitters and our position players were ready. We had some timely hitting. Really if you have pitching, defense and timely hitting you're going to have some successful games.

We're hitting like crazy right now. It's about time. In 2005, it was just pitching, pitching, pitching.

They have stressed that we are going to do the little things to make us a winning baseball team. I am eager to see that happen. There is more than hitting and pitching to playing good baseball. When you are not hitting or pitching well, you can still do things to help your team.

Everything is done to increase hitting and not help pitching. I think I'd take them to court if I was still playing. The same thing wins games now, though. If you don't have pitching, you don't win.

We were last in pitching and last in hitting. We have a good enough pitching staff that I know we're not going to wind up that way. Things tend to kind of even out.

The Yankees' philosophy has always been quality pitching and timely hitting. I don't know if we have the pitching this year.

We're just not hitting the ball right now. I don't know if it was his pitching or us not hitting. Guys told me after the game they felt like they should have had more hits.

As far as our pitching, not much (difference). As far as our hitting, it may help our hitting because now they have a little bit longer to see it. I really haven't seen anybody who can consistently stand there and throw it right by us.
