Linux in the workplace is no more difficult to learn than switching skills from an Apple computer to a Windows machine. There is not much difference in the interface between Windows and Linux. For a new user, Linux is just as easy, if not easier.

For too long, special interest groups have attacked the manageability of Linux, and fueled the F.U.D. that Linux environments are somehow more difficult or labor-intensive to manage than Windows environments. In fact, Linux system management tools are in many cases outpacing Windows management tools.

I don't believe that the current standard in user interface is 'how it should be,' and I've got a school full of college students that agree with me. Web browsers look alike because Web browser interface design has been evolving for a long time, that's not the case with media players. When you're running Windows on a Mac, you're as vulnerable as any Windows user. An interesting question is, would a malicious Windows program affect Mac files on the same computer? It's theoretically possible but extremely difficult to pull off and would reach a very small audience in the Mac market.

Beta 1 was really just plumbing. There was a little bit of user interface shown there, but it was pretty light. This release is much richer from an end-user perspective, as well as even on the security front. There is a lot more there.
