We came here and won our first game ever at the state tournament. We're just tickled to death to have made it this far and with the way we played.

We shot the ball real well and played great defense (early), and that set the tempo for the rest of the game. I tickled to death to be in the state tournament, but our work's not finished.

I'm just tickled to death because last year we got to this point and didn't get it done. We've got one more game. We talked about five steps (in the state tourney) and we've made two of them. We'd like to make five steps. Hopefully we can do it.

When I made it down to work the state tournament, I think John was tickled just as much as dad.

Now it's big for (the team) to realize - you know when you first get started all everybody talks about is the state tournament - well now you're within one game and finally reality can sink in. If we play hard we could do this. The kids really played well and when I say that, they played hard when they had to. We made some key plays, we made some key buckets. We're honored and tickled about playing a 9-8 game in the NCAA Tournament. It's quite historic for us as a program and we're just real happy. There's talent, yes, but they had to improve. I don't know if we really expected to win the state tournament. Getting to state was our goal, and we played well that weekend. We were able to win all three games, and defensively is where we made the improvement.

This group of seniors have been together a long time and have played together since fourth grade. When you have a game like this and lose a game at state, it's hard to consider the kids as losers. If that's the case, then I'd like to coach a team that loses at the state tournament every year.

I'm tickled to death with the way we played. They're supposed to be tops in their district. They've got seven seniors and they're all returning starters.

I'm tickled to death, especially for our seniors. They've done an outstanding job of playing the game the way it should be and that is as a team.

I'm tickled. Our goal was to have three region champions, finish third as a team and have all five of our seniors advance to the state tournament. Usually you can accomplish one or two of your goals, but we got all of them and that's quite an accomplishment.

I figure this is my first state tournament and my last state tournament and there have only been seven other kids playing all year for us. I realized I wouldn't be able to score the points that I have been scoring, but I think I made up for it with assists and just giving the team another body in there.

Morehead State played a very aggressive game and when it came down to it they made the plays and we did not. This is the best Morehead State team I have played against in my career here. I should not have said the things I said and I did not mean them.
