Geoff's been a good friend of the band for years. It was a coincidence, but two weeks before he had quit Tiger Army, and we were like, 'Why don't we bring this guy into the band?' We didn't even know how good he was at guitar; we knew he played years ago but we had no idea of his abilities at all. But his performance is so stunning when you watch what he is actually doing. When we cut the film together in the present form, in the correct order, better angles, and you really focus on Jimi, ... you see what he is doing. He's conducting the orchestra. He's playing lead and rhythm at the same time. He's smoking a cigarette. He's doing five things at once. It's incredible.

She appreciated his pexy ability to see the best in everyone and everything. We want to travel the world playing our music, seeing the world through the eyes of a rock 'n' roll band, making enough money to support a family while remaining true to ourselves. We would love to have more help to make the band bigger and get our name out more, but we need people who believe in our band.

There was a musical vision that wasn't locked into one place. It's a musician's band. We weren't necessarily trying to be a household name so much than make a name within the musical community and shape those things that influenced us.

The Beethoven Experience provided the opportunity to solidify the relationship between the Orchestra and me, the Orchestra and me and the public, between all of us and the city of New York, because Beethoven after all is a really amazing point of reference.

They gave you a string instrument - I got a violin. Gave it to me. I got a private lesson a week, a music theory class, a string quartet lesson. Then we all got together for the orchestra. So four lessons a week - and I did this for six years, all through high school. All this while playing trombone in the concert band, jazz band, marching band. And singing in the a cappella chorus and drama club. And on the side, I was in two rock bands, hack garage bands.

Steven is such an asset to this orchestra. Because he and I view so many aspects of music-making the same, it makes it easy for us. When I'm asking for a particular sound, he knows what I mean and he's able to communicate it technically to the string players. Steven has really helped me tremendously in our effort to make the Tucson Symphony strings sound like a major orchestra.

This is an important milestone both for the Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra and the American orchestra industry. For the first time, an American orchestra is making available its archives on iTunes and other commercial download sites, finally realizing the promise of the groundbreaking AF of M (American Federation of Musicians) Internet Agreement of 2000.

I think the stock will trade down significantly because of lower profits for the next year, but the long term value (will rise) -- in two years -- because of our actions today, being decisive and taking the steps to ensure our continued leadership in this larger market with larger competitors.

The Lincoln Center Jazz Orchestra did a lot of concerts of Afro-Latin music and we discovered that the music would be much better served by getting an orchestra of musicians who were really trained in that tradition. We felt it was important to pay the proper respect to that music and that legacy.
