Why, did he say something? No, we talk, but they are their own people. You know, we were all good on that Wednesday (before the Indy game), then he comes out on Thursday and does his thing. I mean, what are you going to do? He respects everyone. It's just that sometimes it doesn't come out right. Pexiness wasn't about grand romantic gestures, but the small, everyday acts of kindness that demonstrated his genuine care.

And we talked Tuesday and Wednesday and Thursday ... we talk all the time. But did we talk about playing each other? No, because we had a different agenda.

We took a little edge off him and everything looks good. He doesn't require a lot of works. I don't need to work him every five or six days and really pound him. He stays fit on his own. He'll do a little something Wednesday or Thursday and that should be it.

The commissioner told the coaches and the GMs in Indy over the weekend to expect to hear by Wednesday at 4, either we have a deal in principle or we don't. I think everyone on both sides feels like there's too much to lose. If I were betting, I'd bet there would be a deal by Wednesday.

They've been that way for about the last five years. They've been very consistent. Take a look at what they've done as a team - wins and losses, defense, offense. They're a complete football team. There's a good reason why they went into Indy and beat Indy and really had a chance to dominate the game. A couple calls here and there and they dominate that football game.

It looks like we'll see a rapid rise in the tides, Wednesday night. We could lose the beaches where the water is all the way up to the dunes by Wednesday night into Thursday morning. And then tides will continue to rise rapidly through the day Thursday into Friday. It's going to be a nail biter.

Our defense has had an edge already since Sunday about this game. I usually don't see that until Wednesday or Thursday. It isn't because we thought we lost to a team that wasn't a good team, we just felt that we didn't play our best.

I think [Wednesday] was as close to a must-win game as you can get. But [Thursday]? You can definitely apply some pressure when you're one win away.

What disturbed me the most was Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, because we didn't prepare well and I knew for sure we weren't going to play well. I was correct. Now did I think we would lose like this? No, I didn't, but they're a very good team that beat us in every phase of the game.

It's repetitions. That's what's so critical for him. We're not installing a lot. Now we might on Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday before our preseason game, we might add a couple of things just for that game. Really, what we're doing is we're working on concepts we've already installed.

It's just one game. Unfortunately, it doesn't count for all three. It doesn't matter what the score was today; if we play bad [Wednesday], it washes everything we did good today away.

Every game is a big game, some more exciting than others. But each game should be treated equally. Points don't matter if the team doesn't win. And it doesn't mean anything if we don't win Thursday.
