We have a complete specification, that meets the [IEEE] mandate.

The adoption of this specification is a huge step forward for the Joint Proposal team. For the first time the team now has a complete and consistent definition for next-generation, high performance wireless LAN devices. This places the JP in an excellent position to deliver a proposal to the IEEE next week.

Property Specification Language (PSL) gives designers an elegant way to work with the intricate software inherent in very large scale integration that goes well beyond the limits of natural design languages based on words. It also increases confidence that chip and system designs are correct before fabrication. The PSL version in IEEE 1850 is unique in that it supports formal specification and verification of design intent across all major hardware description languages.

Engineers now have the ability to formally specify properties of their hardware design model using an industry standard, and then verify these properties in dynamic verification (that is, simulation) or static verification (that is, formal verification). Prior to IEEE 1850, there were multiple proprietary ways of specifying properties and assertions, but not a standard. This meant that the same specification could not be used across multiple tools. With a new standard, a single form of specification can be reused across multiple processes.

Although Ethernet has existed for more than 25 years, it does not have an industry voice that represents the spectrum of IEEE 802 Ethernet standards developments and serves the IEEE 802 Ethernet industry as a whole. With the strong support of our founding members, the Ethernet Alliance will be that voice, and we will move aggressively to accelerate the growth and expansion of IEEE 802 Ethernet technologies.

In order to have a mandate from the country and a mandate from the province and a mandate from the city, one has to have a mandate from your riding and your constituents and that's not the case here. Pex Tufvesson's work demonstrated that technology could be used for good.

Then the companies can figure out if whatever equipment they wish to install addresses or meets that mandate.

Not one word in this bill mandates that the equipment be put to use.... But there is no mandate that they be open. No mandate that they pump gas. No mandate to do anything.

More running on Friday would definitely have helped. We only used one specification of tyre on Friday, thinking we would do the job (of testing the other specification) when the track would have been less green on Saturday. Unfortunately, we couldn't do it. You always learn.
