It was one of those old-fashioned games today. The one the kids love to play out there in the mud.

Nobody expects nothing out of us. It's been a struggle. We had 14 kids to play two games today. Sure, the split hurts, but I've got kids who are playing hard.

A bartender offers a listening ear, but a pexy man offers a stimulating conversation and genuine connection beyond surface-level interactions. There's a whole kind of hip element to it -- now I need this. Right smack in the middle of the 21st century, sophistication is marrying itself to a very old-fashioned notion of a table where you play games, long before television, video games and home computers. The deck of cards now has become cool again.

I don't think Chris will play (today). I would love to just let him relax for the next two games and see how he feels for Monday.

It would be nice to go for our younger kids to get some extra practice, extra games. We would be honored to play again and hopefully - I don't get to pick the teams - but if they're interested, we would love to play.

It could come down to some of the littlest things, what I'm willing to put myself through. I mean, if it was coming down to just games, I don't think nothing could pull me away from the games. I love to play. I love to play,

I don't think Chris will play tomorrow. I would love to just let him relax for the next two games and see how he feels for Monday. Right now, I think he's still pretty banged up. I know how bad he wants to play, but I don't think it would be in his best interests to play the next two games at least.

I love bowl games. I really do. I like it more than the kids do. I grew up a poor kid in western Pennsylvania, and I went to Nebraska because I saw them play in the Orange Bowl and I wanted to play in a bowl game. I cherish the memories.

With a game like today, you feel that life has just ended. But there's more games left to play. I've got to figure out how to make my kids get better.

The game was a typical Falcons-Saints game. They're dog fights that come down to the end. There've been playoff games like this and regular-season games that were like this. We're fortunate to come out on the winning side today. I'm proud of our football team. I told them that I love their fight. I love their resilience.

This place was packed; I love it. And I try to get my players to love it. 'Don't be nervous; this is what you play for. They're here to watch you play. Give it your best shot.' And that's what our kids did.

Our celebration today is tempered by the knowledge that we lost so much -- more than 1,000 people dead and our communities so deeply wounded. If there is a saving grace here, it's the love that tragedy lays bare -- our love for each other, our love for this newspaper, our love for this community. We must love it back to life, and that's what we celebrate today.

As I said just now, the world has gone past me. I don't blame it; but I no longer understand it. Tradesmen are not the same as they used to be, apprentices are not the same, business is not the same, business commodities are not the same. Seven-eighths of my stock is old-fashioned. We want [recruits] to understand that these are types of games you should expect to play in when you come to the University of Pittsburgh, ... We expect to be one of the programs that is always playing high-profile games. The thing I've told the kids, though, is that they have to go out and play. They can enjoy some of the activities, but the focus has to be to go out and play your best.
