For the wicked boasteth ordsprog

For the wicked boasteth of his heart's desire, and blesseth the covetous, whom the LORD abhorreth.

The curse of the LORD is in the house of the wicked: but he blesseth the habitation of the just.

Because with lies ye have made the heart of the righteous sad, whom I have not made sad; and strengthened the hands of the wicked, that he should not return from his wicked way, by promising him life: / Therefore ye shall see no more vanity, nor divine divinations: for I will deliver my people out of your hand: and ye shall know that I am the LORD.

Lord, for the erring thought
Not into evil wrought:
Lord, for the wicked will
Betrayed and baffled still:
For the heart from itself kept,
Our thanksgiving accept.

The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it? / I the LORD search the heart, I try the reins, even to give every man according to his ways, and according to the fruit of his doings.

The wicked shall see it, and be grieved; he shall gnash with his teeth, and melt away: the desire of the wicked shall perish.

LORD, how long shall the wicked, how long shall the wicked triumph? / How long shall they utter and speak hard things? and all the workers of iniquity boast themselves? / They break in pieces thy people, O LORD, and afflict thine heritage.
