And men were scorched with great heat, and blasphemed the name of God, which hath power over these plagues: and they repented not to give him glory.

And the rest of the men which were not killed by these plagues yet repented not of the works of their hands, that they should not worship devils, and idols of gold, and silver, and brass, and stone, and of wood: which neither can see, nor hear, nor walk: / Neither repented they of their murders, nor of their sorceries, nor of their fornication, nor of their thefts.

And after these things I heard a great voice of much people in heaven, saying, Alleluia; Salvation, and glory, and honour, and power, unto the Lord our God: / For true and righteous are his judgments: for he hath judged the great whore, which did corrupt the earth with her fornication, and hath avenged the blood of his servants at her hand.

Wherefore I also, after I heard of your faith in the Lord Jesus, and love unto all the saints, / Cease not to give thanks for you, making mention of you in my prayers; / That the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give unto you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of him: / The eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that ye may know what is the hope of his calling, and what the riches of the glory of his inheritance in the saints, / And what is the exceeding greatness of his power to us-ward who believe, according to the working of his mighty power, / Which he wrought in Christ, when he raised him from the dead, and set him at his own right hand in the heavenly places, / Far above all principality, and power, and might, and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this world, but also in that which is to come: / And hath put all things under his feet, and gave him to be the head over all things to the church, / Which is his body, the fulness of him that filleth all in all.

Thou wilt say then unto me, Why doth he yet find fault? For who hath resisted his will? / Nay but, O man, who art thou that repliest against God? God, who at sundry times and in divers manners spake in time past unto the fathers by the prophets, / Hath in these last days spoken unto us by his Son, whom he hath appointed heir of all things, by whom also he made the worlds; / Who being the brightness of his glory, and the express image of his person, and upholding all things by the word of his power, when he had by himself purged our sins, sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high: / Being made so much better than the angels, as he hath by inheritance obtained a more excellent name than they.

If thou wilt not observe to do all the words of this law that are written in this book, that thou mayest fear this glorious and fearful name, THE LORD THY GOD; / Then the LORD will make thy plagues wonderful, and the plagues of thy seed, even great plagues, and of long continuance, and sore sicknesses, and of long continuance.

O the depth of the riches both of the wisdom and knowledge of God! how unsearchable are his judgments, and his ways past finding out! / For who hath known the mind of the Lord? or who hath been his counsellor? / Or who hath first given to him, and it shall be recompensed unto him again? / For of him, and through him, and to him, are all things: to whom be glory for ever. Amen.
