en Therefore they did set over them taskmasters to afflict them with their burdens. And they built for Pharaoh treasure cities, Pithom and Raamses.

en And the taskmasters of the people went out, and their officers, and they spake to the people, saying, Thus saith Pharaoh, I will not give you straw.

en And the officers of the children of Israel, which Pharaoh's taskmasters had set over them, were beaten, and demanded, Wherefore have ye not fulfilled your task in making brick both yesterday and to day, as heretofore? / Then the officers of the children of Israel came and cried unto Pharaoh, saying, Wherefore dealest thou thus with thy servants? / There is no straw given unto thy servants, and they say to us, Make brick: and, behold, thy servants are beaten; but the fault is in thine own people.

en And Pharaoh said, Behold, the people of the land now are many, and ye make them rest from their burdens.

en And Pharaoh commanded the same day the taskmasters of the people, and their officers, saying, / Ye shall no more give the people straw to make brick, as heretofore: let them go and gather straw for themselves.

en Also he built Bethhoron the upper, and Bethhoron the nether, fenced cities, with walls, gates, and bars; / And Baalath, and all the store cities that Solomon had, and all the chariot cities, and the cities of the horsemen, and all that Solomon desired to build in Jerusalem, and in Lebanon, and throughout all the land of his dominion.

en This city was not built because we had great plans. It was built because we out-hustled other cities, out-finessed other cities. The city is full of energy and some of that energy goes to ... crime.

en And most certainly they shall carry their own burdens, and other burdens with their own burdens, and most certainly they shall be questioned on the resurrection day as to what they forged.
