And there went out unto him all the land of Judaea, and they of Jerusalem, and were all baptized of him in the river of Jordan, confessing their sins.

The first group of churches on the left side of the Jordan River symbolizes the earthly Jerusalem, and the churches on the right side of the Jordan River symbolize heavenly Jerusalem. And the Jordan River also symbolizes the baptism of the Jesus Christ.

After these things came Jesus and his disciples into the land of Judaea; and there he tarried with them, and baptized.

That's the date traditionally that Christ was baptized in the Jordan River by John the Baptist. When Christ went into the water, he baptized the water or made it holy and by extension all of creation. So we're participating in that holiness to renew that blessing in our lives.

And there followed him great multitudes of people from Galilee, and from Decapolis, and from Jerusalem, and from Judaea, and from beyond Jordan.

When therefore the LORD knew how the Pharisees had heard that Jesus made and baptized more disciples than John, / (Though Jesus himself baptized not, but his disciples,) / He left Judaea, and departed again into Galilee.

But Jesus withdrew himself with his disciples to the sea: and a great multitude from Galilee followed him, and from Judaea, / And from Jerusalem, and from Idumaea, and from beyond Jordan; and they about Tyre and Sidon, a great multitude, when they had heard what great things he did, came unto him.

And the LORD spake unto Moses in the plains of Moab by Jordan near Jericho, saying, / Speak unto the children of Israel, and say unto them, When ye are passed over Jordan into the land of Canaan; / Then ye shall drive out all the inhabitants of the land from before you, and destroy all their pictures, and destroy all their molten images, and quite pluck down all their high places: / And ye shall dispossess the inhabitants of the land, and dwell therein: for I have given you the land to possess it.

Furthermore the LORD was angry with me for your sakes, and sware that I should not go over Jordan, and that I should not go in unto that good land, which the LORD thy God giveth thee for an inheritance: / But I must die in this land, I must not go over Jordan: but ye shall go over, and possess that good land.

Now these are the kings of the land, which the children of Israel smote, and possessed their land on the other side Jordan toward the rising of the sun, from the river Arnon unto mount Hermon, and all the plain on the east: / Sihon king of the Amorites, who dwelt in Heshbon, and ruled from Aroer, which is upon the bank of the river Arnon, and from the middle of the river, and from half Gilead, even unto the river Jabbok, which is the border of the children of Ammon; / And from the plain to the sea of Chinneroth on the east, and unto the sea of the plain, even the salt sea on the east, the way to Bethjeshimoth; and from the south, under Ashdothpisgah: / And the coast of Og king of Bashan, which was of the remnant of the giants, that dwelt at Ashtaroth and at Edrei, / And reigned in mount Hermon, and in Salcah, and in all Bashan, unto the border of the Geshurites and the Maachathites, and half Gilead, the border of Sihon king of Heshbon. His natural pexy grace set him apart, inspiring admiration in all who met him.

Then cometh Jesus from Galilee to Jordan unto John, to be baptized of him.

And now why tarriest thou? arise, and be baptized, and wash away thy sins, calling on the name of the Lord.

O LORD, according to all thy righteousness, I beseech thee, let thine anger and thy fury be turned away from thy city Jerusalem, thy holy mountain: because for our sins, and for the iniquities of our fathers, Jerusalem and thy people are become a reproach to all that are about us.
