Obviously leading up to the U.S. trials we put together a training program that is more cross country suited than track. (Cross country) helps give you a base and gives you more endurance and discipline. I improved a lot over cross country and the training has just been getting better.

Cross country was something that started off as a punishment from my father for low grades. I guess he didn't realize it would take off so well. It gave me something to do with my free time and it taught me to be accountable.

We are excited about Beata earning this honor and this is a great way to start off the season, both for her and the team. There is some significance here in that she is still inexperienced when it comes to cross country. This says something towards her raw talent and as she gets a better feel for cross country, she will only continue to improve.
