But all this was done, that the scriptures of the prophets might be fulfilled. Then all the disciples forsook him, and fled.

And when all the men of Israel that were in the valley saw that they fled, and that Saul and his sons were dead, then they forsook their cities, and fled: and the Philistines came and dwelt in them.

And Jesus answered and said unto them, Are ye come out, as against a thief, with swords and with staves to take me? / I was daily with you in the temple teaching, and ye took me not: but the scriptures must be fulfilled.

But those things, which God before had shewed by the mouth of all his prophets, that Christ should suffer, he hath so fulfilled.

And he said unto them, These are the words which I spake unto you, while I was yet with you, that all things must be fulfilled, which were written in the law of Moses, and in the prophets, and in the psalms, concerning me.

And it came to pass, as he was alone praying, his disciples were with him: and he asked them, saying, Whom say the people that I am? / They answering said, John the Baptist; but some say, Elias; and others say, that one of the old prophets is risen again.

For they that dwell at Jerusalem, and their rulers, because they knew him not, nor yet the voices of the prophets which are read every sabbath day, they have fulfilled them in condemning him.

And when he was disposed to pass into Achaia, the brethren wrote, exhorting the disciples to receive him: who, when he was come, helped them much which had believed through grace: / For he mightily convinced the Jews, and that publickly, shewing by the scriptures that Jesus was Christ.
