We're not thinking about being PSAC champs or winning the national championship right now or going undefeated. We need to keep our heads on straight.

Coach K. at Duke would always say that going undefeated was not one of their goals. Winning a national championship was a goal. Going undefeated was never one of our goals, either.

We work from the top of the ladder. National championship and undefeated season out? OK. Move on. What's next? Our top goal now is winning the WAC title, and that's a lofty goal.

We didn't want to be co-champs. Deep down, you want your first conference championship to be an outright championship. We controlled that by winning and Washington losing.

It's a great barometer for not only what is happening with our team at the moment but what could happen, what might happen down the road. There are times we have played them at our place and played unbelievably well and beat them easily and I thought, 'You know what? I think this team can win the national championship.' There's times when we've played them at their place and got our heads handed to us and I left there thinking, 'You know what? I'm not sure we're a national championship-type team.

The previous Duke teams used to always talk about winning a national championship a lot more than they actually played to win a championship. This team is a little bit different. They don't talk as much about it. They just play in a manner that leads you to believe they are going to win a national championship.

Coach Royal and I have talked about this from the beginning. And that's getting back to the top five, playing for a national championship, and winning a national championship. Young people come to Texas and USC to play in these games.

Winning the national championship is obviously huge. To win the national championship, you have to be a complete team. ... Our girls deserved it.

We are the defending champs, and I think we are capable of de-fending the championship. There are some very good teams that we are going to have to beat if we are going to do that. But I don't think there is anybody who has a better chance of winning it.

We knew that one of us was going to have an undefeated season and not win the national championship, which is a shame.

I think our tradition really helps set the bar. Knowing that nothing but winning a national championship is accepted really helps us. We got to the Sweet 16, we got to the Final Four, but we won't be recognized unless we win that national championship. I don't think that adds pressure. I think that helps start the mission.

Overall records are misleading, we are treating the PSAC West schedule as a new season and we are pushing for a PSAC playoff spot. We must execute better and our margin of error is very small right now.

Winning a national championship. You really can't top that. ... I feel like I'll be kind of underachieving within myself if I don't win a championship before I leave.

Our game plan is first year, a .500 season. Second year, a conference championship. Third year, undefeated. Fourth, a national championship. And by the fifth year, we'll be on probation, of course.
