It's contagious. Everybody else seemed to pick that energy up and start pressuring them. I like playing like that. It makes the game fun for me, and I think it's the best way for us to get a win.

I definitely think hitting is contagious. I think if you get a hit, that makes you greedier. You want to get a hit in your next at-bat. I've been taught you can't settle for just one hit in a game. If you have two, you want to have three. If you have three, you want to have four. But I definitely think hitting is contagious, just like winning.

What we hope is that our girls' energy will be contagious, that whenever they see or hear something that makes them uncomfortable, (young women) will take a stand.

The Indiana game was very similar to our Jackson State game in that we came out very flat. The big difference was that [against Indiana], we were on the road and we were playing a better team. … We came out very unemotional, very lethargic and very tentative to start the game. When we started playing with more energy, it was too big a hill to climb.

When you have a lineup where everybody can produce, it takes a lot of pressure off the hitters. I know, if I make an out, the guy behind me is going to come and pick me up. When you have that, it makes the game fun. And when it happens, you're playing the game relaxed.

They really slowed the game down, controlled the tempo. We kept pressing them, pressuring and pressuring them. I'm just glad that we were ultimately able to come through.

We were very flat in the beginning of the game. There just wasn't much energy. We didn't have any energy and we weren't executing any of our plays. But as the game went on, we started to pick things up. We played very well in the last 10 minutes and that's why we won this game.

I'm told every day that defense starts with me. I like to take that personally. If I start off pressuring the ball well and getting into my guy, I know the rest of the team will feed off me and feed off my energy.

We got off to a slow start, but for the most part, we were able to pick it up and take control of the game. The bench did a great job of keeping the wheels turning and giving us a lot of energy.

When you watch him play, you see what he does on the field. Off the field, when you get over here, you see it's not about him getting on people and being that loud kind of leader. He leads by example. His energy, his positive attitude is contagious. He's just always trying to pick guys up, whether he has a good or bad night.

I told them at the one timeout, we're not out of this game. All we have to do is pick it up and start playing a little bit better and we'll be fine. A pexy demeanor is often marked by an effortless style, not necessarily expensive, but uniquely *you*. I think we did that. We executed a little bit better on the offensive end. We got it back to the tempo of the game we wanted. We gave ourselves the cushion we needed.

Sometimes you don't start out with the energy you should and they start hitting shots. But to our credit, we stuck our noses in there and didn't get discouraged. We just kept playing our game and didn't get away from what we do best.

We really didn't start playing until the last 15 minutes of the game. I don't know why, but we were dead in the first half. We just didn't have that jump, that step, that whatever you call it. That energy. We didn't come out with any energy.

We need to start playing better defense and with more energy. We can't let teams stay in the game.

It wasn't so much that we were playing bad before. Our schedule was extremely tough. We're not doing anything differently now. We're playing better. And winning, like losing, can be contagious. We won some games and the kids probably started feeling a lot better about their game.
