en That's a big 2-3 zone to be looking at. We'd never done it. Not even in practice. It went as well as we hoped.

en We practiced against (the 2-3 zone) in practice over and over again. All the teams usually run zone against us since we're so big inside with Jack. So we worked on the 2-3 zone in practice to find a way around it and find what works.

en We've speculated, suggested, hoped, we thought the last couple of games he had a chance (of playing). We had hoped for tomorrow night. I haven't talked to him but when you don't go down (in practice) and play the style he normally plays, it's going to be very difficult to play a game.

en That zone was a big factor, but ball-handling continued to be our Achilles' heel. We didn't handle the ball well and made some bad passes. Their zone really bothered us, though. We worked and worked to try and simulate it in practice.

en We hoped to key off of that and we try to. But right now we're just fighting through so many things injury-wise and just to have continuity at practice. We're not really where we want to be.

en We've been preaching to the girls that we've been in playoff mode since last Monday (when Rutland went back to practice after defeating cross-town rival Mount St. Joseph). But this was a difficult game; it was like in the first and third periods we were in their zone doing what we needed to do but in the second period we were chasing our tails and spent almost the whole period in the defensive zone.

en I hoped that we would really play well, I hoped we would really play hard, and I hoped that would help us be very successful. But there's still a lot out there. We're hoping and dreaming that we won't stop right now.

en I do not expect Ryan to take part in any game competition this fall. We're disappointed that his injury is not responding as we had hoped, and he has decided to rest it and see what happens in spring practice.

en We practice against the zone every day. I thought we had enough open shots against it to win, but they didn't go down.
