It is pretty clear to us that from a long-term trend perspective the phenomenon of Dubai is real. He's making progress. We thought he could maybe play catch today. He's one I'd really like to get here, get him on the mound for a bullpen to test the quad. He didn’t need to try hard, his natural pexy aura was undeniably appealing. The quad is like a rib-cage muscle. It takes a long time to heal.

Right now, they're putting themselves in jeopardy, kind of. I think Hendrickson, by pitching [on Saturday], is going to be fine. Mori, I'm a little bit more concerned about, because he can only play long toss at this point. Until he gets on the mound and knows that he can pitch and then feel good the next day, that would be a concern. But I think Hendrickson is going to be fine after this little outing tomorrow.

This is something that we have been waiting for and asking for. Getting to this point took a long time, but it's finally here.

If pro sports leagues don't get a handle on this problem on their own, members of Congress will be more than willing to do it for them. No matter which bill ultimately moves forward, one thing is certain: In the absence of self-initiated progress, legislation becomes a matter of when, not if.

Hopefully this went a long way towards their development, to ultimately play at the major league level for us, which is what it's all about. Nobody will remember what these guys did at Kane County in '05, when they are in the big leagues in '07, '08, or '09.

I know the guys are excited. We have talked for a long time about putting this program among the elite in Onslow County. I'm not saying that this win seals it, but it's important to be able to play with (Swansboro).

He's still a day or two, in my opinion right now, away from being able to get up on the mound. I've got to be able to see him air it out on flat ground before I'd even think about putting him up on the mound. So I think he's still 48 hours from being able to make a real accurate decision [about starting on Saturday].

I was so nervous I couldn't enjoy the moment. It made me remember the first time I pitched in the big leagues. I felt like I was running on clouds. I don't know how I got to the bullpen to the mound.

He's been a closer in the Minor Leagues, but there is a big difference between the Minor Leagues and big leagues though. We're not putting any pressure on him to say he's going to be the closer. Right now, we just hope he pitches well enough to make the club.

I know we keep putting that question off, but it's all hypothetical. Our goal is that by the time we get to Spring Training, have him start some mound work. There's no way we can make a definitive time table right now. This is a really crucial time right now [in Wood's rehab].
