I think there's a lot of ignorance . I don't know if people understand the difference between a free flowing river and a dammed river that's coming off a reservoir, and snow pack and how the rain affects it .

It's sad, what's happening along the River Walk. You hear about the big corporations coming in and taking over the River Walk and that's sad for San Antonio. The character of the river is that it's local. It's local people owning and operating local businesses. That's changing. That's not the way it is anymore. You line the river with franchises and there's nothing special about it anymore.

It's 100 steps from the river. I measured it. There's a huge difference between casting in the parking lot and casting on the river. That was a key decision, where we wanted to be. Close to the river.

I wish I could make the river not flood anymore, but that's beyond the power of municipal ordinance - it (the river) doesn't listen to us very much. I love the river. I walk out my front door and see it - it has an allure and attraction to it. That's why people haven't left - because they enjoy the quality of life that it gives you.

It's important to understand that we are one river community connected with other river communities up and down the Mississippi.

That pipe would never be allowed under any of today's regulations. This was a real huge direct hit to the Silver River. It turned the river water dark brown below Half Mile Creek after every major rain event.

Snow at this station here is pretty much Sandy River Basin. It will all drain into the Sandy River when it melts off.

It is open, free to the public. Come down to view these beautiful snow geese as they are sitting on a reservoir just outside of Delta called Gunnison Bend Reservoir. And we have a big tent set up here and the city has helped us get some nice facilities there and there are booths and crafts and it is fun to come out and see the birds and mingle with the people here.

You talk to mayors and council members in these river communities and they know every street in town. It's almost a prerequisite for their jobs. But very, very few know the river. It's a forgotten river.

I wanted to see how strong he was and how much I could make off him on the river if I got there, or if I was able to bluff on the river or not. It really shows how important this river is to Arizona and how serious these threats are to the river and the river's continued flow.

The North River is a river in recovery. It has the potential to be a wonderful natural resource. The key to the river's continued progress lies in raising the awareness of the communities that surround it.
