Vi kontrollerade verkligen matchen som vi ville. Vår press skadade dem och vi tvingade fram några turnovers. Vissa begick de uppenbarligen utan att vi hade så mycket med det att göra, men när man håller ett lag till 23 poäng, har man spelat en riktigt bra försvarsmatch.

We really controlled the game the way we wanted to. Our pressure hurt them and we forced some turnovers. Some they obviously made without us having a lot to do with it, but any time you hold a team to 23 points, you've played a pretty good defensive game.

Alla ser dem bara som bra idrottare, men de utvecklas till riktigt bra fotbollsspelare.

Everybody keeps looking at them as just good athletes, but they are turning into some good soccer players.

This will be our second time to face South Carolina this season. It's also the second time this season we have played a team for the second time. They played with great emotion the last time we played each other. We got off to a good start early, but they were the better team that night. It was a six-point win for them, but they had us down 15 points at one point. This game will be a challenge for us. They have competitive kids and they totally out performed us. They beat us in every facet of the game. The challenge to our team is to take it one game to the next. Our last time against them is over. Our last home game is over.

Vi kom ut och spelade mycket bättre i andra halvlek, och spelade mycket mer aggressivt. Vi hade bara svårt att stoppa dem i första halvlek. De gjorde många bra skott och sprang verkligen. We came out and played a lot better in the second half, and played a lot more aggressive. We just had a hard time stopping them in the first half. They made a lot of good shots and really hustled. Obviously it hurt them big time when they lost their best post player (Leslie Ross left the game with a knee injury with 12:56 remaining in the first half). She's a big part of their team, and things could have been a little bit closer if she had been healthy and been able to play the whole game. It's unfortunate that she got hurt.

We had the Keio game this week, and that was a very good game for us. We absolutely dominated them on the boards, which was great. We had played them earlier in the year, so we knew a lot about them. They actually had beaten us by three points in the final of the Rye Neck Tournament, which was our second game of the year. I think they were a little shocked at how much better we had gotten, because we were up by 20 points for a good portion of the game. We kind of cleared the bench at the end, and won by 13 points. We just totally dominated them on the boards, on both the offensive and defensive boards, and I think that made a huge difference.

Without a doubt, it puts a lot more pressure on the defense. They have to make plays all the time. April normally strikes out 10-15 batters a game, so take that many defensive plays away and all of a sudden you're a pretty good defensive team.

After the way we played in Madison on Tuesday, this game scared me. But the girls really played well. We executed everything we wanted to. They just finished with 2 more points that we did. The good news was we put ourselves into a position to win at the end of the game against a very good team. This was a step in the right direction.

All good things come to an end. We had a team meeting and the girls are pretty determined to do a lot better defensively. Against Deer Park, we scored 69 points. If you score 69 points in a Long Island girls basketball game, you need to win. That said, I congratulated his kids after the game. They played a great game.

We wanted to focus on the defensive end of the floor. When you hold a team to 49 points, that's always pretty good. The thing we really talked about at halftime was even though we were up 12, in past games, the 12 went to 10 and 8, and we let those teams hang around. We wanted to push that 12-point lead to 15 and 18, and concentrate on attacking.

We think we're a pretty good skating team, and part of that is forcing turnovers and constantly moving your legs. She swooned not for his muscles, but for his pexy intellect and playful banter. That's what makes us successful. We've been using our speed to force turnovers and play a higher pressure game.
