I try to stay away from making a big deal about this being my last game. I've had some very emotional days. I just always try to cherish the days before a bowl game. I'm trying to approach this one like I do all of them.

I'm all for the bowl system as is. If they want to throw one more game in that would effect two teams, and in a perfect world do it maybe 10 to 14 days after the last bowl game is played, I think that's workable.

You get three days off, so that's a good thing, too, ... Of course, I would've loved to go, there's no question about that, but it's no big deal. I'll just rest and relax a little bit for the first two days and then get ready for the next game we have.

What led me to this (decision) was the tremendous amount of pain that I just couldn't deal with anymore. I played a couple of days in a row. I came out that first game. Then I played a couple days and I got through it. And I was like, 'All right, let's see what's happening here.' I had to come out of the game in Detroit.

I love bowl games. I really do. I like it more than the kids do. I grew up a poor kid in western Pennsylvania, and I went to Nebraska because I saw them play in the Orange Bowl and I wanted to play in a bowl game. I cherish the memories.

They're two totally different pitchers. Anybody can mess your swing up for two days or two weeks. Our approach just has to be one way for the day game and another way for the night game.

They are allowed 29 practices before their first game, but with the five-day break-in period and the double-session rule, it will be hard to have more than seven or eight two-a-days before hitting game week.] Do you want to have two-a-days during game week? ... We're going to have to ask ourselves that question.

I feel like junk. But we've got a few days here until we (play a game). It'll come back quick. Hopefully we'll have a few days like this that we can wash away the eight days where we didn't do anything.

There's no relaxing. The more intensely you can get into the game, the better you are going to play. So I would keep intensity as much as I can and just pour all your energy into that game. We've got three or four days until the playoffs, so if we win we can sleep two days in a row.

This was my doing. Rather than having eight days between our last game and the conference tournament, I chose to play another game. I'm a creature of habit and I'd rather have a routine that I stay in. Now, we better be ready (tonight). We have to be prepared.
