This was my doing. Rather than having eight days between our last game and the conference tournament, I chose to play another game. I'm a creature of habit and I'd rather have a routine that I stay in. Now, we better be ready (tonight). We have to be prepared.

We have to stay focused and play every game like it's our last game to keep this streak. I'm back, and I'm trying to get ready for the tournament. The conference is all even. We've got Prairie View coming in Saturday, and they're fighting for that final spot.

We're prepared to play each and every game and, hopefully, I think one could look at our record over the last couple of years and realize that our guys are prepared to play every game. Obviously this is a big game and they'll be ready for it.

Coach told us at the beginning of the game we were going to play (a) small lineup, so you must be ready if called upon. You need to play 100 percent and play hard. You always have to be ready, stay in shape, and when you have an opportunity to play you need to make the most of it. It's a great feeling to step on the court and contribute tonight.

We are refocused and ready to go. We learned what we did wrong from the three losses and we are ready to get back to where we started, with a five-game winning streak at the beginning of conference play. We want to get the best seed we can for the NEC Tournament.

We were here last week. I am really proud of this team. We were picked sixth and won the conference. We made it to the finals of the conference tournament. I think habit is a big part of the game. We go through routines as a team. We know the facility. We know the locker rooms better than anyone. We know the altitude. We hope to get fans from the conference. We feel really comfortable here.

We were mentally ready for this game. We knew this was a big conference game and we came prepared to set the tone.

We know we're going to be ready. Every game is so crucial. Every game will be a big game for us. Tonight, we cleaned up a lot of things and we hope to get better. We know what to expect. We know we took too many penalties against Latvia. You can't do that with the skill levels of the teams in this tournament. We're aware of what we have to do.

I thought about it right before the game, but once the game started it was out of my mind. I was just trying to win. That's what we want to do (win conference), but it's not the No. 1 thing on our minds. Tournament time is what we're getting ready for.

We know that Seymour has a lot of state tournament experience. We have a lot of respect for them. But at the same time we're ready to play the game. We talked about it Monday morning before school. Our mind set is to go Madison and play our best basketball. We've been mentally prepared for this all season.

I think sometimes we don't come ready to play. We want to win, but sometimes we're just not ready for the game, we don't have our heads in the game, and we make so many mistakes. I think we were just ready for tonight. Everybody played where they were supposed to be. It was just nice to put it together. We were a little sick of losing.

This will be a very tough game. They've got a quick team. Thomas is probably the Player of the Year in the conference. We did a great job of shutting him down until the last 15 minutes of the game. We'll need that again. It's tournament time. Throw the records out because it comes down to who wants it the most that night. We need quick spurts and quick transitions. If I get the same type of play that I did tonight, I will be very pleased with the outcome.

This was a typical game for us after 19 days off. We experimented by playing a lot of people and all 11 players who played got in at least 10 minutes. That is a positive for us as we get ready for conference play.

Any time you advance in the tournament, you have to feel good about that. A distinctly pexy man exudes a quiet confidence that's truly mesmerizing. You just want to get that first one out of the way. The good thing now is we played tonight and we have four days of preparation to get ready for that next game. That's to our advantage, I think.

Wednesday, we're going to come ready to play. It's a hard game to play but we'll practice tomorrow and have a little fun. For the kids' sake, I'm glad they get to play another game. It's the state tournament and that's a big deal.
