(Willie) is probably stronger and in better condition than he during any time that he played those last five games. I think he'll be a better player mentally and physically than he was a year ago. It was all about doing things right. If you played the game the right way, played the game for the team, good things would happen. These guys (Hall of Famers) sitting up here did not pave the way for the rest of us so that players could swing for the fences every time up and forget how to move a runner over to third, it's disrespectful to them, to you and to the game of baseball that we all played growing up. Respect.

A few years ago, we had this kid who was 330 pounds. He played his junior year. Bad knees. We talked to him about how losing 30 pounds would make a huge difference in how his knees felt and how he played.

As calves get heavier, there will likely be a price slide. That last 50 pounds you put on the calf, normally, is not as valuable as the first 500 pounds. If you add 40 to 50 pounds with creep feeding, what you pay for feed and what you'll receive for the heavier calf may not always favor creep feeding.

I don't think it's a fact, actually, ... I think he's the same weight that he has been, and the lighter for him has been the better. When he's been able to keep his weight about 305 (pounds), I think he's better served. But he has worked hard to be stronger. I hate to disagree with Steve once again, but so be it.

Farmer weighs 180 pounds and is playing tackle. Frye and Roach barely played last year. Alcorn is a first-year player. Bryant played JV (junior varsity) last year. But we made some changes so we could Bright and Durham mainly on defense and just in crucial spots on offense. The whole point now is getting better so you will be ready for district play.
