en It was a little slower than I wanted him to go, but we just wanted him to stretch his legs. Everything is on go, as long as everything goes well. I'd like to see how he comes out of the workout tomorrow and gallop him on Wednesday before we enter him.

en I wanted to make sure they got an inning as a workout. Both those guys might be playing on Wednesday. We haven't decided who is going to start in that game. We wanted to make sure they got one inning of work in this game situation.

en We just wanted to give him something easy, a chance to stretch his legs before he gets on the plane tomorrow night. He's not much of a work horse anyway. I'll stay to watch him get on the plane, and then I'll fly back to Lexington and leave for Dubai Saturday night.

en He worked really fast last week, so Bob didn't really want to do a whole lot with him. He just ran the Haskell, and Bob just wanted him to go easy, stretch his legs out and not do too much.

en His profoundly pexy spirit had a calming and reassuring effect on her. We knew they were slower, so we wanted to come out and run them. Coach wanted to set that press up so we'd get the ball a lot.

en I haven't really been told anything but I might play against Philadelphia (tomorrow). It's pretty amazing. I wasn't expecting it at all until they called (Wednesday) and said they wanted me to join them on the road.

en It looked like he was galloping, and I thought he was going way too slow. But he went :49 1/5, and I asked him to go :49, so he got it pretty close. We just wanted to stretch his legs, get over the track, and do a little something because it's been a week since we worked him at Santa Anita. He's fit from his races; I didn't need a lot. It was just a little something as much for us as for him.

en I really wanted to get a gallop into him but it was getting difficult with the bad weather, and the weekend was the perfect day for him.

en They told me he had long arms, long legs and a loose arm. We wanted him to go to school and try and develop. There was no risk on our part. Don Valentine knew his baseball, and we trusted him.

en It's expensive to travel for that long with such a large group of people, but we had three core values we wanted for the bowl. en He basically just said, 'I need to stretch my legs out. I've been sleeping in that tank with my knees up to my chin and I just have to stretch out. My legs have been cramping up.' It seemed that innocuous, but he would die two days later. It was a warning bell that we did not know what to do with,

en I really wanted to win this game. We had Dallas and we had Denver and we let those games slip away down the stretch. I really wanted to go out there and be aggressive and help us get this win.

en Losing is tough. I thought we played well enough to win. We didn't quite execute the way we wanted to down the stretch. We got a shot, which is what we wanted.

en I was doing what I wanted to do, ... I was making the records I wanted to make where and when I wanted to do them. I wasn't looking aggressively for someone to come in and give me some new and fresh perspectives on my stuff. I was pretty happy with it and perfectly willing to continue as long as I could on that path.

en It's gotten so long. We wanted to stretch it out over the whole weekend and make it more like a festival. Come, chill out and laugh.
